Definitions
- This technology consists of two plates arranged in the upper and lower cover of the belt, joined by bolts that go through the belt; Each of these plates contains a through hole with a reinforcement. Then the draft cable is passed through said hole and closed by a cable clamp.
- this technology has the disadvantage of not having longitudinal flexibility, so that shooting maneuvers are hampered when going through the pulleys and upon reaching the reel reel. Due to this little longitudinal flexibility there is a great tendency to tear the belt in the area of the shooting plate. In addition, the plate is often trapped in the structures of the conveyor belt and in the material loading chutes.
- This method consists of a press that tightens the belt by bolts at its ends.
- the press contains two plates with through holes at their ends, through which passes a pulling cable with two loops at its ends.
- the metallic structure of the press is very rigid and loses longitudinal flexibility to the belt. In addition to being very wide, so that the strap is entangled in the adjacent structures and can not be incorporated into the winder reel in an ideal way.
- the present invention solves the problems described above with a pull clamp that allows a simple, safe and efficient coupling between the pull cable and the conveyor belt; There is a better grip between the pull clamp and the pull cable, avoiding slippage of the cable.
- Another of the main advantages of the present invention is that its pulling capacity is known.
- this staple of draft allows to conserve the longitudinal flexibility of the belt, avoiding the tearing of this in the area of union with the staples and also preventing the entrapment of the belt in skids, cargo chutes, pulleys, scrapers, etc.
- Figure 1 represents an isometric view of the device of the present invention.
- Figure 2 represents a main view of the device of the present invention.
- Figure 3 represents a sectional view of the device of the present invention.
- Figure 4 represents an isometric view of the overall arrangement of the staples 90 with the pull cable and the conveyor belt.
- Figure 5 represents a detailed view of the anchor of the pull clamp to the draft cable and the belt.
- the upper plate (1) has conical grooves (10) with projections (9) so that the countersunk head of the through connectors (8) fits and does not slide, so to tighten the set of plates only requires applying torque in the nut (12) that goes in the conical slot 105 of the lower plate (3).
- the lugs (13) have an internal through hole with localized clearance adjustment to prevent the head of the through connectors (8) from separating from the conical groove (10) of the upper plate (1).
- the circular profile of the middle part of the upper plate (4) and the circular profile of the middle part of the central plate (5) are designed to contain the draft cable (14), for which they have on their surface contact, a rough pattern (6) and (7), which corresponds to the matrix of a cable; in such a way to increase the contact area and that there is no slip between the cable and the upper (1) and central (2) plates.
- the central plate (2) and the lower plate (3) have gripping teeth (11) on their side edges towards the side of the conveyor belt (16) to be buried in it, avoiding slippage and allowing a better grip.
- each staple will depend on the technical specifications of the belt and the tension of draft required for the change of this.
- the conveyor belts When the conveyor belts meet their useful life, they must be removed and replaced by a new belt. To this end, the worn belt is removed by means of the coupling of this one to a pulling cable that in turn is pulled by a reel.
- the present invention patent allows coupling the conveyor belt to the draft cable.
- pull clamps are jointly as shown in Figure 4, that is, several staples must be used to attach the conveyor belt to the pull line. In this way it is sought to distribute the force to pull the strap throughout the whole.
- the number of staples to be used will depend on the pulling tension required to make the belt change, the belt width and the type of pull cable that is available.
