Le procédé consiste à : enregistrer une ou plusieurs séries de corrélations telles que définies par un utilisateur entre des intervalles d'intensité d'environnement sonore et des décibels de volume pendant une lecture de musique (S101) ; compiler des statistiques sur les intensités sonores dans l'environnement pendant une certaine durée (S102) ; calculer une valeur moyenne des intensités sonores dans l'environnement pendant la durée déterminée (S103) ; et en fonction de l'intervalle d'intensité d'environnement sonore dans lequel la valeur moyenne se situe, lire la musique à un volume en décibels correspondant à l'intervalle d'intensité et pousser des informations de brevet vers le téléphone mobile de l'utilisateur (S104). Au moyen des corrélations prédéfinies par l'utilisateur entre les intervalles d'intensité d'environnement sonore et les décibels de volume pendant une lecture de musique, il est possible de calculer la valeur moyenne des intensités sonores dans l'environnement pendant une certaine durée, ce qui permet un réglage automatique du volume de la musique émise par le lecteur audio sur la base de l'intensité sonore moyenne dans l'environnement actuel, tout en protégeant les droits et les intérêts d'un demandeur/détenteur de brevet.
