- the reflecting member 17B is inclined by approximately 45 degrees in the direction along the major axis of the elliptical reflecting member 17B with respect to the elastic wave propagation direction. Other points are the same as those of the elastic wave device 1 described above.
- the elastic waves excited by the IDT electrodes 12A and 12B can be reflected at least in a direction different from the elastic wave propagation direction by the plurality of reflecting members 17B. Therefore, the elastic wave device of the second modified example can also be reduced in size, and the characteristics are hardly deteriorated. Further, between the first and second reflectors 13A and 14A, a plurality of reflecting members 17B are provided in a row so as to extend along a direction orthogonal to the elastic wave propagation direction. Therefore, further miniaturization can be achieved.
- the direction along the major axis of the elliptical reflecting member 17B is provided so as to be inclined by about 45 degrees with respect to the elastic wave propagation direction. Reflection can be more reliably performed in a direction different from the propagation direction. Therefore, in the elastic wave device of the present modification, the reflected elastic wave is unlikely to return to the first or second elastic wave elements 15 and 16, and the deterioration of characteristics can be further reduced. From such a viewpoint, it is preferable that the direction along the major axis of the elliptical reflecting member 17B is inclined 45 ° ⁇ 25 ° with respect to the elastic wave propagation direction.
- the propagating elastic wave can be scattered in various directions.
- the reflective member 17 having the same size and shape is used.
- the reflective members 17C and 17D having different sizes may be combined as in the third modification shown in FIG.
- a combination of reflecting members having different shapes may be used. Even in these cases, it is possible to reduce the size of the acoustic wave device and to obtain the effect of the present invention that the characteristic is hardly deteriorated.
