Definitions
- the present invention relates to a connector.
- the gap between the housing 505 penetrating the attachment hole 519 and the attachment hole 519 is sealed by the O-ring 521, and the shield wall 517 and the shield layer 523 of the shield electric wire 503 are conductively connected. Since the housing 505 covers the exposed portion of the conductor 509 in a liquid-tight manner, there is no possibility that the liquid may enter the shielded electric wire 503 through the gap between the core wires constituting the conductor 509.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above situation, and an object of the present invention is to provide a connector that can prevent the terminal insert portion of the housing from being damaged by the displacement of the terminal.
- the terminal side end surface of the seal portion is located in the annular recess of the housing. Therefore, there is no possibility that the terminal side end surface of the seal portion deformed by the movement of the terminal or expansion and contraction bulges out from the terminal side end surface of the housing, thereby hindering connector fitting.

- a terminal 17 is connected to a conductor 15 of a covered electric wire 13, and a terminal portion 19 of the covered electric wire 13 and a part of the terminal 17 are connected portions.
- the connector 11 will be described with the terminal side as the front and the covered wire side as the rear.
- the covered wire 13 in which the conductor 15 is covered with the covering 21 is connected to the connector 11 of the present embodiment.
- the covered electric wire according to the present invention in addition to the covered electric wire 13 in which the conductor 15 is covered only with the covering 21, the outer side of the inner insulating coating covering the conductor is covered with a metal braid, and the outer side is covered with the outer jacket. A shielded wire may be used.
- the connector 11 of the present embodiment is provided for a plurality (two in the present embodiment) of the covered electric wires 13 in which the terminals 17 are connected to the conductors 15 together.
- the terminal 17 is connected and fixed to the conductor 15 exposed at the terminal portion 19 of the covered electric wire 13.
- the connection structure between the terminal 17 and the conductor 15 may be any of a crimping structure, a pressure welding structure, a welding structure, a brazing structure, and the like.
- the terminal 17 illustrates the flat terminal which is a male terminal
- the terminal 17 is a female terminal which has a box-shaped electrical contact part other than a round terminal, a Y-shaped terminal, etc. Also good.
- thermoplastic elastomer can be thermally bonded to ordinary high-polarity thermoplastic resins such as polycarbonate and ABS resin, and light metals such as glass, various metals, aluminum and magnesium alloys by modification. And can be excellent in flexibility and moldability.
- the rear end of the waterproof cylinder covering part 45 is a small diameter part 47, thereby forming a stepped part 49.
- the small-diameter portion 47 that covers the outer periphery of the covered electric wire 13 is formed thin.
- the thin small-diameter portion 47 is provided, thereby ensuring high adhesion with the covered electric wire 13.
- the small-diameter portion 47 is made of a thermoplastic resin having rigidity higher than that of the thermoplastic elastomer. However, the small-diameter portion 47 has a certain degree of followability with respect to electric wire bending by being formed into a thin wall.
- This followability is a range in which the waterproof cylinder 39 and the covered electric wire 13 do not cause interface peeling. That is, the small diameter portion 47 suppresses the bending of the covered electric wire 13 within a range where the interface peeling between the waterproof cylinder 39 and the covered electric wire 13 does not occur.
- the terminal side end face 51 of the seal portion 23 is exposed from the housing 25 so as to surround the terminal 17 (see FIG. 3).
- the terminal side end surface 51 is exposed from the terminal side end surface 59 of the housing 25 by an annular recess 53 of the housing 25 formed so as to surround the terminal 17. That is, the terminal side end surface 51 of the seal portion 23 covering the terminal 17 is exposed on the bottom side of the annular recess 53 (see FIG. 2). Therefore, the terminal side end face 51 of the seal portion 23 is exposed to the outside through the annular recess 53 of the housing 25.
- the annular recess 53 serves as a space for preventing the seal portion 23 deformed by the displacement of the terminal 17 from bulging from the terminal side end surface 59 of the housing 25.

- the secondary molding die 55 is provided with a slide core 54 having an annular convex portion 57 for molding the annular concave portion 53 of the housing 25.
- the slide core 54 provided with the annular convex portion 57 can be incorporated into the secondary molding die 55 so as to be slidable and separable.
- the pair of seal portions 23 connected by the connecting portion 31 can mutually position the terminal portions 19 of the two covered electric wires 13 to which the terminals 17 are fixed. Accordingly, since the seal portions 23 primarily formed on the end portions 19 of the two covered wires 13 are covered with the housing 25, the covered wires 13 to which the terminals 17 are fixed also when the insulating resin is secondarily formed.
- the terminal portion 19 can be accurately positioned in the cavity 56 of the secondary molding die 55. That is, the workability at the time of molding for setting the end portion 19 of the covered electric wire 13 in the cavity 56 is improved, and the end portion 19 of the covered electric wire 13 inserted into the cavity 56 is injected with a secondary molding resin (insulating resin).
- the connector 11 having good dimensional accuracy can be obtained without causing unevenness due to the pressure and uneven thickness of the housing 25.
- the housing 25 covers the seal portion 23 so that the terminal side end surface 51 of the seal portion 23 is exposed to surround the terminal 17, so that the seal portion 23 is interposed between the terminal 17 and the housing 25, and the terminal 17 is not directly covered by the housing 25 formed of insulating resin. Therefore, the seal portion 23 formed of an elastic material can absorb the displacement and expansion / contraction of the terminal 17, and can prevent the terminal insert portion of the housing 25 from being damaged.
- the terminal side end face 51 of the seal portion 23 is exposed from the housing 25 by an annular recess 53 of the housing 25 formed so as to surround the terminal 17. That is, since the terminal-side end surface 51 of the seal portion 23 is located in the annular recess 53 of the housing 25, the terminal-side end surface 51 of the seal portion 23 deformed by the movement or expansion / contraction of the terminal 17 is the terminal-side end surface of the housing 25. 59 (see FIG. 2), there is no risk of hindering connector fitting.
- a sealing portion 23 made of a thermoplastic elastomer is bonded to the covering 21 and the terminal 17 of the covered electric wire 13 by primary molding, and the sealing performance is ensured. Abstract
