Le numériseur selon l'invention comprend : un module de balayage, qui est utilisé pour exécuter une opération de balayage dans le but de générer des données numériques; un éditeur de rapport, qui est utilisé pour enregistrer un rapport d'activité du numériseur et pour former ainsi un fichier de rapport, pour traiter le fichier de rapport et pour transmettre le fichier de rapport traité à une mémoire; la mémoire, qui est utilisée pour stocker le fichier de rapport; un dispositif de commande, qui est connecté au module de balayage, à l'éditeur de rapport et à la mémoire, et qui est utilisé pour commander des opérations du module de balayage, de l'éditeur de rapport et de la mémoire. Le numériseur selon la présente invention est apte à enregistrer et à sauvegarder automatiquement un rapport d'activité. Il peut permettre à un utilisateur de surveiller le rapport d'activité sur le numériseur, et il peut transmettre le rapport d'activité à un espace de stockage externe, d'une manière automatique ou manuelle. La présente invention se rapporte d'autre part à un procédé adapté pour enregistrer et pour sauvegarder automatiquement un rapport d'activité d'un numériseur.
