Abstract

Es wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Schalenkatalysators bereitgestellt, der einen porösen Katalysatorträger-Formkörper mit einer äußeren Schale umfasst, in welcher zumindest ein Übergangsmetall in metallischer Form enthalten ist, umfassend: Bereitstellen von Katalysatorträger-Formkörpern; Aufbringen einer Übergangsmetall-Vorläuferverbindung auf einer äußeren Schale der Katalysatorträger-Formkörper; und Überführen der Metallkomponente der Übergangsmetall-Vorläuferverbindung in die metallische Form durch Reduktion in einem Prozessgas bei einer Temperatur von 50 bis 500°C, wobei die Temperatur und die Dauer der Reduktion derart gewählt sind, dass das Produkt aus Reduktionstemperatur in °C und Reduktionszeit in Stunden in einem Bereich von 50 bis 5000, bevorzugter 80 bis 2500, weiter bevorzugt 80 bis 2000, und mehr bevorzugt 100 bis 1500 liegt.
