Abstract
Safe Impact System is a feedback controlled system capable of detecting demolishing impact of guarded automobile and any physical object and absorbing the energy of impact via mechanical damping system. System is also capable of prevention of slipping of guarded automobile under any physical object via high strength rods. System is to reallocate position of impact from body of the guarded automobile to composite frame providing better response time to air bags of guarded automobile.
Description
Safe Impact System
Technical Field
Safe impact of automobiles
Background Art
Impact between any automobiles is considered to be deadly situation for both automobile and its passengers. Because of inertia of any moving automobile, impact force is high enough to demolish the physical form of the automobile and deliver deadly shock to its passengers. Also, relative height difference between small and large size automobiles could lead to deliver sudden deadly collision leaving no response time to air bags to guard the passengers.
Disclosure of Invention
To provide protection for automobile and its passengers from physical collision, proposed system consists of smart distance sensing system capable of calculating distance, velocity and acceleration of automobile and any approaching physical object that may result any demolishing impact. In case of prospected collision, mechanical assembly consisting of absorber, spring and high strength aluminum alloy rod is to be unleashed from front side of guarded automobile.
As illustrated in figure 1 , capacitive proximity sensors sense distance between guarded automobile and any approaching physical object, microcontroller identifies prospected collision and orders servo motor to unleash locked assembly that contains preloaded spring, high strength aluminum alloy rod which is preloaded by torsion springs hits the approaching physical object and energy of impact is absorbed by mechanical
absorber. By the end of collision, servo motor retracts wire leading to reposition the safe impact assembly to its initial position which is impeded in the front side of guarded automobile and is not noticed by naked eye.
Same described system is to be attached to back side of guarded automobile or both front and back side of guarded automobile.
