Abstract

The invention relates to a refrigeration device, in particular a household refrigeration device having a carcass (2) with an interior container space (3), a refrigeration device door (4), in addition to a separate compartment (12) located in the interior container space (3) and thermally insulated in relation to a refrigeration compartment, the access opening of said separate compartment being closed by a thermally insulating compartment door (13) that has a handle (14). To provide a compartment door (13) of a refrigeration device (1), in particular a household refrigeration device with an improved insulating action, according to the invention, the handle (14) is situated outside the thermally insulating area of the compartment door (13). In addition, the compartment door (13) has a simple front surface (16) and can nevertheless be actuated by means of a handle (14, 14a). The locked position of the compartment (13) can be released by the handle (14, 14a) in spite of the simple front surface (16) of the compartment door (13). To achieve this, the face (15) of the handle (14, 14a) that is oriented outwards (16) adjoins the outward facing front surface of the compartment door (13) in a flush manner and a release unit (22) for opening or unlocking the closed compartment door (13) is associated in particular with the handle (14) or handle strip (14a).
