Abstract

　本発明の研磨基材１０は、可撓性基材２０と、可撓性基材２０における一方の面に形成され、可撓性基材２０よりも弾力性に富む材料からなるクッション層３０と、クッション層３０上に形成されたナノ繊維層４０とを備える研磨基材である。 　本発明の研磨基材１０によれば、従来よりも微細な研磨材を用いて磁気記録媒体におけるテクスチャ加工を行うことが可能になるとともに、研磨基材として十分な機械的強度を確保することが可能となり、もって、磁気記録媒体におけるテクスチャ加工を従来よりも高精度に行うことが可能となる。また、本発明の研磨基材１０をワイピング用の基材として用いれば、磁気記録媒体におけるフィルムクリーニング処理又はバーニッシング処理を従来よりも高精度に行うことが可能となる。
