Abstract

　ＰＮ接合領域（３４）で発生した光を厚み方向に透過させて表面から射出する簿板状の半導体素子本体（３１）と、その半導体素子本体（３１）の表面を覆うように設けられた表面電極（３２）と、その表面電極（３２）を厚み方向に貫通するものであって前記半導体素子（３１）本体内を透過してくる光を集光し外部に射出する柱状をなす複数の誘電体アンテナ（３６）と、を具備したＬＥＤ（３）と、そのＬＥＤ（３）の発光面側に配設され、ＬＥＤ（３）から照射される光を回折・分散させる回折部材（４）と、その回折部材（４）の外側に配設され、当該回折部材（４）で分散した光を拡散させて外部に射出する拡散部材（２）と、を設けた蛍光灯に代替可能な、高効率で均一な光を得ることができるＬＥＤ照明器（１）を提供する。
