Abstract

A beer taste drink improved in full-bodied taste and richness is produced by using a material which comprises compounds having a full-bodied taste and a richness established by treating barely seeds, barley malt, a barley seed extract, a barley malt extract or a mixture thereof at a high temperature. Further, these compounds are fractionated and collected to give a flavor imparting agent which is to be added to a beer taste drink, a drink or a food. Thus, a beer taste drink or a drink or a food having a beer taste which is improved in full-bodied taste and richness is produced.
