Abstract

　燃料電池用カップラー１は、燃料電池２に設けられ、バルブ４０とこれを閉方向に付勢する付勢手段５３とを備えるソケット１ｓと、燃料電池用の液体燃料を収容する燃料カートリッジ３に設けられ、バルブ１４とこれを閉方向に付勢する付勢手段１８とを備えるノズル１ｎとを具備している。燃料電池用カップラー１は、前記ソケット１ｓと前記ノズル１ｎとを接続することにより前記両バルブ１４、４０を当接させて開放し、前記燃料カートリッジ３内に収容された前記液体燃料を前記燃料電池２へと供給するために用いられる。燃料電池用カップラー１は、前記ソケット１ｓ側および前記ノズル１ｎ側から選ばれる少なくとも一方のバルブ４０（１４）が、ヘッド部４０ａ（１４ａ）とその軸方向の両端に設けられたロッド部４０ｂ、４０ｃ（１４ｂ、１４ｃ）とを有し、かつ前記当接側のロッド部４０ｂ（１４ｂ）が主として金属部材からなるものとされている。
