Abstract

Et målelegeme for et kjemisk injeksjonssystem omfatter et fritt stempel med et par av mekanisk aktuerte seteventiler som kan individuelt åpne seg for å tillate fluid å gå fra én side av det frie stempel til den andre. Det frie stempel glir inn i en sylinder med sylinderhoder ved motståend ender. Inngags/utgangsporter er anordnet i sylinderhodene. I en froretrukket utførelse har seteventilen aktuatorer som strekker seg utover de motstående flater av det frie stempel. Hvis en flate av stempelet beveger seg til innen en forhåndsbestemt avstand, til et sylinderhode, kontakter aktuatoren sylinderhodet og ytterligere bevegelse av stempelet bevirker at den tilhørende seteventil åpner seg, og tillater fluid å strømme gjennom stempelet. På denne måten, kan et feiltolerant system implementeres. Hvis et kraftavbrudd eller annet svikt på kontrolleren oppstår, vil systemet fortsette å tilføre fluid ved den sist valgte strømmingsmengde. Når kraft er gjenopprettet (eller svikten er utbedret), bevirker kontrolleren at en ventil reverserer strømmingen av fluid gjennom målelegemet og den fjærbelastede seteventilen vil lukke ettersom det frie stempel beveger seg bort fra sylinderhodet.
