Abstract

Disclosed is a method for producing a pre-expanded polyolefin resin particle for in-mold expansion molding, which, when it is desired to produce an in-mold expansion-molded article having a thin shape, enables to achieve good surface performance and good dimensional stability of the in-mold expansion-molded article readily under a wide range of molding condition. Specifically disclosed is a pre-expanded polypropylene resin particle which comprises a polypropylene resin having a melt index of 3 to 20 g/10 min inclusive as a base resin, and which has an expansion ratio of 10 to 40 times inclusive. The pre-expanded polypropylene resin particle has two melting points as measured by differential scanning carorimetry, wherein the higher melting point is 150˚C or higher and the lower melting point is lower than 138˚C.
