Abstract

コンテンツ配信システム（１００）は、ネットワーク（１７）に収容されるサーバ装置（３）及びクライアント装置（２）、並びに該クライアント装置にセット可能であると共に記録可能な情報記録媒体（１）を備える。情報記録媒体には、プリペイド情報やコンテンツ識別情報が記録されており、クライアント装置は、情報記録媒体がセットされると、記録されている前記情報をサーバ装置に送信する。サーバ装置は、コンテンツ識別情報に対応するコンテンツを、プリペイド情報により示されるプリペイドされた範囲内で、クライアント装置に配信する。クライアント装置は、配信されるコンテンツを格納手段（９）に格納し、更に情報記録媒体にコピーする。これにより、迅速性及び安全性に優れたコンテンツ配信を可能とし、しかも所望のコンテンツが記録された情報記録媒体を安全確実にユーザの手元に届けることができる。
