Abstract

 単セル(11)のアノード(32)に燃料を供給するウィッキング材(60)には、切れ目(61)が形成されている。これにより、ウィッキング材(60)内部の燃料伝播のみならず、ウィキング材(60)の切れ目を通じた毛管力を利用できるので、十分な量の燃料をアノードに供給することができる。これは、ウィッキング材(60)内部の連続空孔を介した燃料伝播のみならず、切れ目(61)を通じた燃料伝播を有効的に利用することができるからである。したがって、より少ない量および濃度でも、より長い時間燃料を供給することができ、結果として長時間の発電ができる。
