Abstract

　照明装置は、有効面（３１）に入射した照明光を光変調する光変調素子（３）を照明するものであり、面発光光源（１２）およびフォトニック結晶体（１４）を含む光源装置（１）と、面発光光源（１２）の発光面（１３）から出射された光束により光変調素子（３）を照明する少なくとも２つの光学素子（２１，２２）からなる照明光学系（２）とを備えている。照明光学系（２）は、面発光光源（１２）の発光面（１３）を拡大して、光変調素子（３）の有効面（３１）にテレセントリックに結像させる。
