Abstract
The present invention relates to an electrochemiluminescence (ECL) method for detecting the protective antigen of anthrax toxins using antibodies or fragments, or variants thereof, or related molecules that specifically bind to the protective antigen (PA) of Bacillus anthracis (Anthrax). Such ECL detection methods have uses, for example, in detecting protective antigen in sample from an animal, preferably a mammal and most preferably a human and thereby permitting administration of postexposure prophylaxis and/or postexposure small molecule- and protein based therapeutics for treating anthrax exposure.
