Abstract

 遮蔽効果の画面内均一性がより向上した視野角制御用液晶パネルを提供する。液晶層には直線偏光が入射され、かつ、液晶層の光が出射する側には、液晶層から出射された光のうち、液晶層に入射された直線偏光の偏光軸と平行な成分のみを透過させる偏光板が設けられており、液晶層に含まれた液晶分子は、液晶層に電圧が印加されることによって、液晶層に入射された直線偏光の偏光軸と、平行又は垂直な方向に傾斜し、電極(26)は、液晶層に2種類以上の異なる電圧を同時に印加することができるように設けられている。
