Abstract

　車線認識装置２は、車両１に搭載された撮像装置３を介して取得された道路の画像から、車両１が走行している車線を規定する該道路上のレーンマークを検出することによって該車線を認識する。車線認識装置２は、車両１の前方に存在する前記レーンマーク以外の対象物を検出する対象物検出部５と、道路の画像に関するデータから、対象物検出部５により検出された対象物に相当する部分を除去したデータに基づいて、レーンマークを検出す るレーンマーク検出部６とを備える。これにより、道路の画像からレーンマークを検出して車両が走行する車線を認識する際に、道路の画像に撮像されたレーンマーク以外のものの影響を適切に排除して車線の認識精度を向上することができる。
