Description

PROCESS AND EQUIPMENT FOR BROADCASTING INFORMATIVE PROGRAMS IN LAND OR SEA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION MEANS
The invention relates to a process and an equipment for broadcasting informative programs in the land or sea public transportation means, meant for informing the passengers in the vehicles running on pre-established routes.
There is known a method and a system for displaying the information in a hired vehicle or a taxi (abstract of the Japanese patent JP 2002 162922) which uses a movable information database wherein there is inserted advertizing that is displayed depending on the vehicle position determined by GPS, in a location wherein the presence of a passenger is detected.
The mentioned method and system present the disadvantage that they are not applicable to large vehicles such as buses, trolley buses, many-compartment or many- module vehicles, such as trains, passenger ships on fixed routes, and do not permit the program change during the drive (voyage) and the real-time information of the passengers within the vehicle or in the stations, concerning the environment conditions, events taking place, or the running of other vehicles on the route and do not offer the possibility of monitoring the vehicles on the route.
The technical problem solved by the invention is the dissemination of recorded or real-time information within the land or sea public transportation means, for example compartmented or modular means and in stations, depending on the places of interest run past by a vehicle running on a pre-established route and whose running within the route is monitored.

The equipment for applying the process claimed by the invention has a central server which accesses a memory module wherein the data relating to the route and a table containing the coordinates of the places of interest on the route are stored, a memory module storing identification codes of the vehicles running on the route, a calculation unit generating and memorizing access codes for the data transfer, some calculation and multimedia units wherein multimedia files and playlists are generated and memorized and that perform the bidirectional data transfer through the Internet orviathe satellite platform, to and from some servers located at the ends of the transport line, or in the control points along the route as long as to and from some station processors, and which, in their turn, ensure the bidirectional data transfer with some vehicle computers, to the end-of-line servers and to the station processors there being connected some surveying cameras, sensors, means of displaying, sound play-back, the vehicles being equipped with some vehicle computers having a central unit, a memory for the tables containing the coordinates of the places of interest on the route, a memory for multimedia files, a playlist memory, a module for calculating the GPS coordinates, equipped with an antenna and connector for a console, some input/output devices, to the vehicle computerthere being connected some surveying cameras which take images from the vehicle, some weight sensors for estimating the number of the passengers inside the vehicle, environment sensors for temperature and humidity, displacement sensors for measuring the distances run by the vehicle besides the programmed route, some radio and/or GSM antennas for the bidirectional data transfer, connected by modems, and some display and sound play-back means for broadcasting the multimedia files.
The invention is applicable in the field of the public transportation.
By the application of the invention the following advantages are obtained:
- the information is broadcast in the vehicles with reference to the regions of interest run past by the vehicle;
- the information can be updated frequently or may be broadcast in real time;
- news and warning in real time can be broadcast ;
- there may be inserted advertizing related to the places of interest the vehicle passes by. The invention is presented hereinafter with reference to the figures 1 to 3 which represent:
- Figure 1 is the principle diagram of the information transfer
- Figure 2 is the principle diagram of the route for a means of transportation
- Figure 3 is the structure of an equipment for one vehicle.
According to the invention, the process consists, in a first stage, in establishing a route to be run by the public transportation vehicles, also considering the route variants for emergency situations and there are established the places of interest arranged according to a functional hierarchy, for example: depot/garage/ harbour, ends of line, control points, passenger stations, intermediary places of tourist's and traffic interest, which are established an active region and are identified the GPS coordinates and there is elaborated a table containing all places of interest and the coordinates thereof, which is memorized in a memory location of a calculation equipment accessed through a central server SC.
In a second stage, there is made a customized playlist PL for each vehicle running on the route, which contains an order of play-back and broadcasting, with regard to the time reference points and to the places of interest on the route established in the first stage, of some information contained in multimedia files FMM, to the passengers, and the rule for inserting some real-time information. The playlists PL and the multimedia files FMM are stored in memories accessed through the central server SC.
The playlist is an assembly of multimedia files consisting of a category of multimedia files with general content, that can be broadcast anywhere, irrespective of the time reference points or the vehicle position of a category of multimedia files for informing with regard to the following station on the route established in the first stage, the relations with other transport lines, time reference points, for example the exact time, which are broadcast when the vehicle computer identifies the GPS coordinates of a place of interest, being inserted after the broadcasting of a file with general content ended, of a category of multimedia information files designed to certain places of interest on the route, for example places of tourist's, interest and cultural, commercial interest, unpredicted events etc, that are inserted after a file having a general character, upon the command by the vehicle computer CV, when this identifies the GPS coordinates of a place of interest on the route established in the first stage.
In a third stage, each vehicle is allotted a personal identification code IP, stored in a memory accessed through the central server SC and which, in principle, remains unchanged as long as the vehicle is running on the same route. There is generated an access code for the data transfer CATD, which for security reasons is frequently replaced at each data transfer and when first passing through a control point.
In a fourth stage, the playlist PL for each vehicle and the multimedia files FMM are assembled as a packet that is transferred, together with the table containing the places of interest on the route and the coordinates thereof, from the central server SC to some end- of-line servers SCL located at the end-of-line points on the route. The bilateral data transfer is performed through an informational network, Internet, satellite platform or GSM.
In a fifth stage, from the end-of-line servers SCL, the playlist packet containing the multimedia files PL + FMM and the table containing the places of interest and the coordinates thereof, is loaded in a destination vehicle computer CV through a protocol implying the identification of vehicle IP code, checking up the access code for the data transfer CATD.
In a sixth stage, on the vehicle on route there are broadcast the multimedia files in the order established by the playlist and in relation to the places of interest the vehicle runs past, identified by a GPS module of the vehicle computer CV and there is generated a complex monitoring report-file LOG containing the files distributed in relation to the time and position reference points, images taken by the surveying cameras within the vehicle, and data and values received from the sensors equipping the vehicle, the file-report being transferred to the central sever SC.
For informing the passengers in the stations along the route, the stations are equipped with a station processor connected to the informational network, having environment sensors, surveying cameras and devices for broadcasting images and sound. The station processor has a dialogue with the vehicle computer within the vehicles on the route and controls the information of the public with regard to the vehicles that are to arrive, the route they are running on, the duration of waiting until arriving at the station, the loading of the vehicle and transmits to the computer, data for informing the passengers referring to the environment conditions in the stations.
For large vehicles, such as trains or ships, there are elaborated different playlists for wagons or decks, salons, etc.
In an embodiment of the process, for example in emergency situations, when the vehicles are to be diverged on route variants, the communication and the bidirectional data transfer between the central server SC and the vehicle computers CV and between them and the processors in the stations are made directly by radio and/or GSM. In these situations, the transfer of the packet PL + FMM is made directly from the central server to the vehicle computer and the complex report-file is loaded.
The equipment for the application of the process claimed by the invention has a central server SC that accesses a memory module wherein the data relating to the route and a table TC containing the coordinates of the places of interest Pl on the route are stored, a memory module wherein there are stored identification codes IP of the vehicles running on the route, a calculation unit that generates and memorizes access codes for the data transfer. To the central server SC there are connected calculation and multimedia units wherein there are generated and memorized multimedia FMM and the playlist PL files.
The central server SC transfers data bidirectionally, through the Internet or through satellite platform PS, to and from servers SCL located at the ends of the transport line CL, or in the control points on the route as well as to some station processors ST, which, in their turn, ensure the bidirectional data transfer with some vehicle computers CV.
In an embodiment, the communication and the bidirectional data transfer between the central server SC and the vehicle computers CV and between them and the station processors are performed directly by radio and/or GSM.
Some surveying cameras, sensors, display and sound play-back means are connected to the end-of-line servers SCL and to the station processors ST.
