Abstract

A method and apparatus for providing a practical solution for the generic problem of consistency validation of complex business rules is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method and apparatus are implemented with software tools. The method includes providing for association of a constrained variable with an attribute of rules (102), and providing for definition of a constraint on constrained variables for a combination of attributes defined by a user (103).
