The large rotating wheel 2 can, as is not shown, be equipped with more than one ring made of thorns, the additional rings being arranged next to one another on the outer circumference. This can significantly increase the effectiveness of the printing system. Contrary to the representation in the figures, the printing system can also be operated with a smaller number of external printing units, an internal printing unit and with a flat rotating belt instead of a large rotating wheel.
