The inventors believe that GB conduction involving carbon ⁇ -states in the GB is responsible for the high conductivities. L'invention concerne une électrode dotée d'une surface d'un diamant ultra-nanocristallin conducteur d'électricité qui ne possède par moins de 1019 atomes/cm3 d'azote avec une conductivité électrique à une température ambiante d'au moins environ 0,1 (Φ.cm)-1, ainsi qu'un procédé d'épuration des matières toxiques au moyen de l'électrode. Cette invention a également trait à un dispositif d'émission d'électrons comportant un diamant ultra-nanocristallin conducteur d'électricité qui ne possède par moins de 1019 atomes/cm3 d'azote avec une conductivité électrique à une température ambiante d'au moins environ 0,1 (Φ.cm)-1.
