Definitions

  • the object of the invention is a folding headrest of a car seat, especially back seat.
  • car seat headrests There are various types of car seat headrests. Some of them can gradually change their height in relation to a car seat from their lowest position to the top one by shifting cushion- supporting bars in sleeves provided with elastic blocking elements mating with positioning holes produced on the supporting bars. Others can be situated only in two positions: a low and a top one.
  • the latter headrests are usually designed for back car seats and they should have their upper edge situated possibly low, while in their passive position, in order not to obstruct a view through the back window.
  • the headrests should enable their adjustment to a level of height of an average person's head.
  • Such headrests include a lever supporting structure, which makes it possible to lift and lower the headrest.
  • the purpose of the invention is to develop a headrest that can be easily shifted from active to passive position and which does not obstruct backward visibility while in its passive position and does not require disassembling before folding the back of a back seat in case of increasing luggage boot capacity.
  • the essence of the invention is the structure of the headrest equipped with a couple of brackets where a lower part of each of them is mounted with a fixing unit in a seat back.

  • the blocking Upon pushing the push-button of the upper position blocking 8 and overcoming resistance of the spring 10, the blocking is released by moving the blocking element 9 towards the headrest symmetry axis and the blocking element 9_leaves recesses in the frame 2 and in the bracket fixing unit 4. Simultaneously, a force applied to the cushion 1 from the back causes a rotation of the cushion 1 in relation to the upper rotation pin 5 and rotation of the bracket 4 in relation to the lower rotation pin 5 ⁇ As a result, the cushion 1 is shifted into its passive position and its side that contacts passenger's head becomes adherent to the seat back.
