Abstract

The agent intended for protection and nutrition of plants that acts particularly as an insecticide and repellent used against various animal pests, and/or as a fungicide used against pathogenic fungi, particularly for application to leaves that is in the form of a solution or dispersion in the mixture with water and contains nutrients or, if needed, trace elements, auxiliary additives and impurities in concentrations acceptable for use in agriculture, comprising: 0.6 kg - 3.52 kg of P2O5 in the form of pure phosphoric acid; 0.06 kg - 5.05 kg of K2O in the form of potassium salt with the anion acceptable for use in agriculture, which anion is obviously sulphate and/or chloride; 0.1 kg - 12 kg of MgO in the form of crystalline magnesium sulphate; in 100 l of water.

Description

THE AGENT INTENDED FOR PROTECTION AND NUTRITION OF PLANTS
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to the agent intended for protection against pests, particularly animal pests, against diseases of plants, particularly fungoid diseases, that simultaneously provides nutrition to plants. The preferred embodiment refers to the agent that acts predominantly as a repellent, insecticide and fungicide.
Prior Art
Protection of cultured plants by the known organic and inorganic agents acting against harmful organisms begins to be problematic from the ecological point of view due to the fact that the increased amount of toxic substances has been present in environment while their harmful effects have not been always wholly known. Such factors result in disturbance of the whole nature. Most of smaller watercourses located in agricultural regions are lifeless due to their contamination with pesticides and leakage of industrial fertilizers. Among the known agents used for protection of cultured plants against various animal pests, the following are mainly used: sulfur compounds, organic phosphorus compounds, carbamates, pyrethroides, dithiophosphates, biological preparations, etc. None of the above-mentioned known inorganic insecticides comply fully with the ecological needs. Balance in nature has been disturbed substantially just due to excessive use of pesticides and insecticides. At the same time, it is known that both the price of said products and their application are disadvantageous.
As it has been already mentioned above, protection should be till performed with the more or less toxic substances' that exterminate not only pathogens and various pests but also other beneficial insect, particularly bees, very often also other animals, and they represent also the risk for human. The above-mentioned toxic preparations can be present both in food and potable water. Their concentration has been also increased up to the undesirable level even in soil.
Among the known agents used for protection of cultured plants against moulds and fungi, the following agents are applied most often: organic compounds as dicarbamides, thiazoles and inorganic sulphur compounds used against mildew; agents containing copper or zinc compounds used for example against scab, leaf curl of pears, perenospora of grapevine and late blight of potato (phytophthora fungus). It is known that plants that are sufficiently fertilized are in many cases capable to resist certain diseases. Nevertheless, it has not been still known that the particular composition and/or concentration of a fertilizer can be applied directly to leaves of a plant in order to ensure their direct local protection against pests or diseases. Said effect is described below in the brief description and the enclosed claims.
The experiments aimed at solution of the above-mentioned problem were performed according to the known prior art. Superphosphate mixed with more or less toxic inorganic fertilizing compounds was used for this purpose. Said trials - in spite of the fact that they represented the subject-matter of the patent application in some cases - showed that their introduction into practice seemed to be impossible.
The closest technical solution is the invention according to the utility model recorded under No. 4005, that is analogous to PUV 4415-95 in which the agent on the superphosphate base, i.e. the mixture of phosphoric acid and phosphate, is given. The actual composition of said agent, if considered in combinations specified both in the text and claims, can be used but it has certain disadvantages due to which the invention has not been introduced into practice in such extent that could respond to the requirements demanded. Summary of the Invention
At present, it has been surprisingly found out and experimentally verified that - if the mixture composition is kept within certain ratios and concentrations specified below - the quite good protective effect against pests and fungoid pathogens can be reached while the non-target organisms, particularly humans, but also beneficial insect, as bees, are affected only insignificantly or not at all and that also the environment is affected with heterogeneous substances only little or not at all. The agent thus does not burden food chains in nature. The significant but not the exclusive difference between the known pesticides and the agent according to the technical solution given in PUV 4415-95 is the fact that the known, still used insecticides exterminate insects in all development of their stages while the agent according to this technical invention eradicates only eggs and laπ/ae of pathogenic pests. This is, among others, important for protection of the demanded species, as bees, because they are not present in the target locations in the larval stage.
The above-mentioned disadvantages are solved according to the technical solution by the agent intended for protection and nutrition of plants that features particularly with its insecticide and repellent effect against various animal pests and/or with its fungicide effect against pathogenic fungi, particularly intended for application onto leaves that is available in the form of aqueous solution or dispersion and contains nutrients and, if needed, trace elements, auxiliary additives and impurities in the mixture with water, in the acceptable concentrations for use in agriculture while said agent contains per 100 litres of water as follows:
• 0.6 kg - 3.52 kg of P2O5 in the form of pure phosphoric acid;
• 0.6 kg - 5.05 kg of K2O in the form of potassium salt with anion acceptable for use in agriculture, obviously sulphate and/or chloride;
• 0.1 kg - 12 kg of MgO in the form of crystalline magnesium sulfate; In the preferred embodiment, the agent contains:
• 0.47 kg - 1.06 kg of P2O5 in the form of pure phosphoric acid;
• 0.51 kg - 3.16 kg of K20 in the form of potassium salt with anion acceptable for use in agriculture while sulfate and/or chloride is obviously used;
• 0.8 kg - 4 kg of MgO in the form of magnesium salts;
• 0.0001 kg - 6 kg of additives present in the raw materials added.
Cadmium, lead, mercury, arsenic and chromium content should not advantageously exceed 150 mg, 20 mg, 2 mg, 15 mg 150 mg, respectively, per 1 kg of the dry matter of the agent; other impurities in the concentrations acceptable for use in agriculture can be also present.
In the preferred embodiment, the nutrient is at least one nitrogeneous compound, preferably urea, and/or at least one calcerous compound, preferably the compound of calcerous cation with anion acceptable for use in agriculture while the concentration of the nitrogeneous compound is preferably 0.1 - 5 kg per 100 I of water, when converted to pure nitrogen, and the concentration of the calcerous compound is 0.1 kg - 8 kg when expressed as calcium hydroxide. Magnesium is preferably present in the form of magnesium sulfate, preferably at the amount between 0.5 kg and 4 kg per 100 I of water, when expressed as MgO.
Water is used as the solvent and pH value of the agent is preferably between 1.5 and 6.9. Per 100 I of water, the agent contains preferably 0.01 - 1 kg of at least one element selected from the group including sodium, iron, boron, molybdenum, copper and zinc, and, if needed, a complex-forming addition. The agent contains, if needed, at least one additive substance selected from the group including surfactants, emulsifiers, thickeners, adhesives, binders, fillers and other acceptable for use in agriculture substances as the additives. In combination with the above-mentioned compounds, the agent can contain the substance selected from the group including pesticides, herbicides, growth stimulants and other substances with the already known effect.
It can also contain at least one obvious inactive additive as dyes, perfumes, frost resistant additives, stabilizers, surfactants, emulsifiers, thickeners, adhesives, binders, fillers and other substances acceptable for use in agriculture. The following aspect of the technical solution of this invention is that the agent with the above-mentioned composition is used for extermination and repelling of pests and fungoid pathogens.
The advantage of the agent according to this invention is that it is not demanding as far as purity of the substances used is concerned. The obvious substances permitted for and used in agriculture that contain possible additions of magnesium and sulphur compounds can be used for production of this agent.
Low sensitivity of the agent as far as the initial raw materials used are concerned can be advantageously used so that it can be enriched with the substances suitable for nutrition of plants. This improves properties of the agent that can be simultaneously used as a fertilizer. The agent is applied as a spray and therefore it should be filtered before the application in order to remove gross insoluble substances that could foul nozzles of a sprayer. Due to the high efficacy of the preparation, its concentration can be varied in rather wide range. This ensures considerate approach to plants sensitive to the substances used. A sieve having the mesh up to 0.5 mm2 shall be used for filtration.
The preparations effective to fungoid pathogens and animal pests shall be applied simultaneously with fungicides and pesticides. The preparations according to this invention are accepted well by all cultures. The preparations are not phytotoxic. They can be applied during the suitable weather and they shall be let dried for at least one hour.
Ecological preparations can be applied more often due to their obtainable price and harmlessness to nature because they do not leave residues as cupric, zinc and other toxic substances. The preparations mentioned are used preventively.
Examples
Example No. 1
Combined insecticide, repellent, fungicide and nutrient
Preparation: Add the following compounds to 100 I of water:
• 0.8 kg of the solution of 75-% mass, phosphoric acid (H3PO4); • 0.8 kg of potassium chloride;
• 1 kg of crystalline magnesium sulfate (MgSO4 . 7 H2O);
• 0.07 kg of Agrovital (pinolen, di-1-menthene)
The average dose of 800 I of the solution per 1 ha of an orchard (one application) can be used against: • Pear leaf blister (Eriophyes piri);
• Leaf curl of grapevine;
• Felt of grapevine;
• Grape berry-moth; • Apple worm (codling moth); • Apple sawfly;
• Plum borer;
• Yellow sawfly in greengages and plums. The following dose applied per 1 ha should be kept for example:
• 6.4 kg of phosphoric acid H3PO4;
• 6.4 kg of potassium chloride;
• 8 kg of crystalline magnesium sulfate (MgSO4 . 7 H2O) • 0.54 kg of Agrovital (pinolen, di-1-menthene)
The dosage can be increased by 20% in case of the severe infection by pathogenic fungi after the blooming stage is terminated; the last two sprayings applied can be increased by 30%. The agent against sawflies and tortricids prepared as given above and applied 1 - 2 days before laying eggs acts as the repellent (it prevents laying eggs of pathogens). The agent applied 1 - 2 days after the invasion of sawflies and tortricids and laying of their eggs exterminates eggs and acts as an insecticide. The agent should be applied twice (the second application 5 - 7 days later); 3 applications are recommended in case of rainy weather.
The agent prepared as given above acts as the fungicide against:
• Leaf curl of pears - 2 applications;
• Peach powdery mildew - 1-2 applications;
• Apple scab - the first application to "mouse-ear", 4-5 applications in May, up to 6 applications in case of severe infection;
• Late blight of potato (phytophthora 1 application before May, in July once a fungus) and perenospora of week, every 5 days in case of severe grapevine infection
The agent shall be filtered through a sieve with 0.5-mm 2 mesh Testing results: a) Testing of insecticide and repellent effects
The agent prepared according to Example 1 was compared with the known insecticides under the comparable conditions. The effect obtained with the tested agent used against the animal pests given in this example was the same or better while applied at the same terms. The reference pesticides used were Decis 2.5 EC, Ambush 25 EC.
b) Efficacy test against fungoid pathogens The agent prepared according to Example 1 was compared with the known fungicides under the comparable conditions. The effect obtained with the tested agent used against the fungoid pathogens given in this example was the same or better while applied at the same terms. The reference fungicides used were Kuprikol 50, Ridomil RZ 72 WP, Karathane LC, Rubigan 12 EC and Rovral 50 WP.
Example No. 2
Combined insecticide, repellent, fungicide and nutrient Preparation: Add the following compounds to 100 I of water:
• 1.6 kg of 75-% mass, of phosphoric acid;
• 4.0 kg of potassium chloride;
• 3 kg of crystalline magnesium sulfate (MgSO4 . 7 H2O);
• 0.07 kg of Citovett (L-alkyl aryl polyglycol ether)
The dose of 300 I of the solution per 1 ha plus 1 spraying of field crop (cereal crop) can be used against the following diseases:
• Cereal crop - wheat: powdery mildew of cereals, rust fungi - the first application preferably before the blooming stage; the second application - against spike diseases - can be performed after the blooming stage is terminated;
• Barley - powdery mildew of cereals, rust fungi, brown spotting, rhynchosporia spotting: the first application preferably in Spring, after the infection onset, before the blooming stage; the second application against spike diseases can be applied after the blooming stage is terminated;
• Potato - late blight of potato (phytophthora fungus), potato beetle - the same application as with fungicides; the effect of the agent prepared as above is shorter in case of late blight of potato (2 days), if compared with fungicides; in case of severe infection, apply it once a week during July.
Apply 200 - 400 I of the solution per 1 ha while the following dosage of the elements mentioned below shall be kept:
• 4.8 kg of phosphoric acid; • 9.0 kg of potassium chloride;
• 9.0 kg of crystalline magnesium sulfate MgSO4 . 7 H2O)
The agent prepared as above acts also as an insecticide against animal pests, for example, campions, midges and frit flies. In case of severe infection of pathogenic fungi and occurrence of animal pests, the dosage can be increased by 20% and 30% before the blooming stage and after the blooming stage is terminated, respectively.
Testing results: a) Testing of insecticide and repellent effects
The agent prepared according to Example 2 was compared with the known insecticides under the comparable conditions. The effect obtained with the tested agent used against the animal pests given in this example was the same or better while applied at the same terms. The reference pesticides used were Decis 2.5 EC, Ambush 25 EC.
b) Efficacy test against fungoid pathogens The agent prepared according to Example 2 was compared with the known fungicides under the comparable conditions. The effect obtained with the tested agent used against the fungoid pathogens given in this example was the same or better while applied at the same terms. The reference fungicides used were Alert, Sportak 45 EC, Bayleton 25 WP, Tilt 250 EC. The agent has the comparable effect as Dithane M45 and Kuprikol when applied to potato cultures.
Example No. 3 Combined insecticide, repellent and fungicide
Preparation: Add the following compounds to 100 I of water:
• 0.8 kg of 75-% mass, of phosphoric acid;
• 0.5 kg of potassium chloride;
• 0.5 kg of potassium sulfate; • 1 kg of crystalline magnesium sulfate (MgSO4 . 7 H2O);
• 0.07 kg of Agrovital (pinolen, di-1-menthene)
The dose of 800 I of the solution per 1 ha can be applied against:
• Apple scab; • Perenospora of grapevine;
• Peach powdery mildew;
• Leaf curl of pears;
• Grapevine mildew. The following dosage of the compounds and additives given below shall be kept per 1 ha of orchards and one spraying in 800 I of water;
• 6.4 kg of phosphoric acid;
• 4.0 kg of potassium chloride; • 4.0 kg of potassium sulfate;
• 9 kg of crystalline magnesium sulfate (MgSO4 . 7 H2O);
• 0.64 kg of Agrovital (pinolen, di-1-menthene)
The above-mentioned agent act as a repellent if applied 2 days before the invasion of the animal pests (leafrollers and sawflies). It acts as an insecticide during the invasion and after laying eggs. The agent damages eggs of pathogens in a great deal.
Testing results: a) Testing of insecticide and repellent effects
The agent prepared according to Example 3 was compared with the known insecticides under the comparable conditions. The effect obtained with the tested agent used against the animal pests given in this example was the same or better while applied at the same terms. The reference pesticides used were Decis 2.5 EC, Ambush 25 EC.
b) Efficacy test against fungoid pathogens
The agent prepared according to Example 3 was compared with the known fungicides under the comparable conditions. The effect obtained with the tested agent used against the fungoid pathogens given in this example was the same or better while applied at the same terms. The reference fungicides used were Kuprikol 50, Ridomil RZ 72 WP, Karathane LC, Rubigan 12 EC and Rovral 50 WP. Example No. 4
Combined insecticide, repellent and fungicide
Preparation: Add the following compounds to 100 I of water:
• 0.8 kg of 75-% mass, of phosphoric acid; • 0.5 kg of potassium chloride;
• 0.5 kg of potassium sulfate;
• 1 kg of crystalline magnesium sulfate (MgSO4 . 7 H2O);
• 0.07 kg of Agrovital (pinolen, di-1-menthene)
The presumed consumption of the fungicide agent intended for hop protection up to 3/4 of its height is 1500 litres per 1 ha of a hop-garden and 1 spraying against:
• Perenospora of hop.
The following dosage of the compounds and additions mentioned below shall be kept per 1 ha of hop-gardens, 1 spraying and 1500 I of water:
• 12.0 kg of phosphoric acid;
• 7.5 kg of potassium chloride;
• 7.5 kg of potassium sulfate; • 15 kg of crystalline magnesium sulfate (MgSO4 . 7 H2O) containing 16-% MgO;
• 1.05 kg of Agrovital (pinolen, di-1 -menthene)
Testing results: The agent substitutes protection with Kuprikol 50 under the same conditions. Example No. 5
Combined insecticide, repellent, fungicide and nutrient
Preparation: Add the following compounds to 100 I of water:
• 0.8 kg of 75-% mass, phosphoric acid H3PO4; • 0.8 g of potassium chloride;
• 1 kg of crystalline magnesium sulfate (MgSO4 . 7 hfeO);
• 0.07 kg of Agrovital (pinolen, di-1 -menthene)
In case of severe pest occurrence, substitute Agrovital with 0.2 kg of cellulose glue (glue based on carboxymethylcellulose) per 100 I of water. Only dissolved glue shall be added; therefore, dissolve it e.g. 24 hours before application in about 10 I of water. Water used for dissolution shall be included in the total amount of the water added.
The presumed average dose of 800 I of the agent for 1 ha of an orchard (1 application) is effective against the same pests as given in Example 1. The agent damages eggs and exterminates larvae of the 1st instar while it is also effective for other larvae after being ingested.
The following dosage per 1 ha should be, for example, used during the application:
• 6.4 kg of phosphoric acid H3PO4;
• 6.4 kg of potassium chloride;
• 8 kg of crystalline magnesium sulfate (MgSO4 . 7 H2O); • 0.54 kg of Agrovital (pinolen, di-1 -menthene)
The dosage can be increased by 20% in case of severe infection of pathogenic fungi after the blooming stage was terminated; the dosage for the last two sprayings can be increased by 30%. The agent prepared as given above acts as a repellent against sawflies and leafrollers if it is applied 1 - 2 days before laying eggs (it prevents laying eggs of pathogens). The agent applied 1 - 2 days after the invasion of leafrollers and sawflies and laying their eggs damages eggs and acts as an insecticide.
The agent should be sprayed twice (the second spraying should be performed 5 - 7 days later); 3 applications are recommended in case of rainy weather. The agent prepared as given above acts as a fungicide against:
• Leaf curl of pears Apply twice;
• Peach powdery mildew Apply 1x - 2x;
• Apple scab Apply first spraying to "mouse ear", 4x -
5x in May;
• Snow mould, mildew and peronospora Apply 1 spraying before the blooming of grapevine stage, in July once a week, in case of severe infection every 4 days.
Filter the agent through a sieve with 0.5 mm2 mesh.
Testing results: a) Testing of insecticide and repellent effects
The agent prepared according to Example 5 was compared with the known insecticides under the comparable conditions. The effect obtained with the tested agent used against the animal pests given in this example was the same or better while applied at the same terms. The reference pesticides used were Decis 2.5 EC, Ambush 25 EC. b) Efficacy test against fungoid pathogens
The agent prepared according to Example 5 was compared with the known fungicides under the comparable conditions. The effect obtained with the tested agent used against the fungoid pathogens given in this example was the same or better while applied at the same terms. The reference fungicides used were Kuprikol 50, Ridomil RZ 72 WP, Karathane LC, Rubigan 12 EC and Rovral 50 WP.
Example No. 6
Combined insecticide, repellent, fungicide and nutrient Preparation: Add the following compounds to 100 I of water:
• 1.6 kg of phosphoric acid;
• 4.0 kg of potassium chloride; • 3 kg of urea;
• 3 kg of crystalline magnesium sulfate (MgSO . 7 H2O);
• 0.3 kg of Citovett (L-alkyl aryl polyglycol ether)
The activity of the agent against pathogens - see Example 2. The conditions given in Example 2 are valid with the exception that 9 kg of urea, 9 kg of MgSO4 and 0.9 I of Citowett are used.
Testing results:
The testing results were analogous or better than that one given in Example 2. " Example No. 7
Combined insecticide, repellent, fungicide and nutrient with trace elements added
Preparation: Add the following compounds to 100 I of water: • 0.8 kg of 75-% mass, of phosphoric acid;
• 1.0 kg of potassium sulfate;
• 0.5 kg of urea;
• Trace element addition containing:
- 55 g of boric acid; - 35 g of manganous chloride;
- 5 g of zinc sulfate;
- 5 g of cupric sulfate;
- 2.5 g of potassium bromide;
- 5 g of nickelous sulfate; - 5 g of aluminium sulfate;
- 5 g of titanium dioxide;
- 5 g of cobaltous nitrate;
- 2.5 g of potassium iodide;
- 2.5 g of lithium chloride; - 2.5 g of stannous chloride;
- 2.5 g of molybdene in the form of nitrate with chelatone added;
- 0.3 I of Cittowett ((L-alkyl aryl polyglycol ether).
The agent according to the example above is suitable also for protection of cultures damaged, particularly with frost, hails, etc.
The agent mentioned above features in this case also with its high curative and fertilizing properties. The ratio of trace elements and their presence or absence can be modified according to the fertilizing, economical and material needs; nevertheless, the valid chemical and physical laws shall be kept. "Ferrovit" is the trade name of the preparation containing Fe that is used against chlorosis.
The actual compositions mentioned in the text above are given as examples and they do not represent the limitation of protection range. Any specialist will be able to prepare variants and modifications according to the explanation of the gist of this solution that will not exceed the invention protection specified exclusively to the following claims.
* Opacity or precipitate was observed in this case. This does not impair efficacy of the agent that acts particularly as a repellent. The insoluble phase can be mixed to the form of dispersion or it can be filtered or the both procedures can be combined.

Claims

What is claimed is:
1. The agent intended for protection and nutrition of plants that acts particularly as an insecticide and repellent used against various animal pests, and/or as an fungicide used against pathogenic fungi, particularly for application to leaves that is in the form of a solution or dispersion in the mixture with water and contains nutrients or, if needed, trace elements, auxiliary additives and impurities in concentrations acceptable for use in agriculture, featuring with that it contains
• 0.6 kg - 3.52 kg of P2O5 in the form of pure phosphoric acid;
• 0.06 kg - 5.05 kg of K2O in the form of potassium salt with the anion acceptable for use in agriculture, which anion is obviously sulphate and/or chloride; • 0.1 kg - 12 kg of MgO in the form of crystalline magnesium sulfate; in 100 I of water.
2. The agent according to Claim 1 featuring with that it contains
• 0.47 kg - 1.06 kg of P2O5 in the form of pure phosphoric acid; • 0.51 kg - 3.16 kg of K2O in the form of potassium salt with the anion acceptable for use in agriculture, which anion is obviously sulfate and/or chloride;
• 0.8 kg - 4 kg of MgO in the form of Mg salts;
• 0.001 kg - 6 kg of additives present in the raw materials added; in 100 I of water.
3. The agent according to Claim 1 or Claim 2 featuring with that
• cadmium content does not exceed 150 mg per 1 kg of the dry matter of the agent; • lead content does not exceed 20 mg per 1 kg of the dry matter of the agent;
• mercury content does not exceed 2 mg per 1 kg of the dry matter of the agent; • arsenic content does not exceed 15 mg per 1 kg of the dry matter of the agent;
• chromium content does not exceed 150 mg per 1 kg of the dry matter of the preparation, and, if needed
• other impurities are present in the concentrations acceptable for use in agriculture.
4. The agent according to Claim 1 , Claim 2 or Claim 3 featuring with that other present nutrient is represented at least by one nitrogeneous compound, preferably urea, and/or at least one calcerous compound, preferably the calcerous cation compound with the anion acceptable for use in agriculture, while the concentration of the nitrogeneous compound converted to pure nitrogen is preferably 0.1 - 5.0 kg per 100 I of water, and the concentration of the calcerous compound converted to calcium hydroxide is 0.1 - 8.0 kg.
5. The agent according to Claim 4 featuring with that magnesium is present in the form of magnesium sulfate, preferably in the amount of 0.6 kg - 4.0 kg of pure MgO per 100 I of water.
6. The agent according to Claim 1 featuring with that pH value of the agent is between 1.5 and 6.9.
7. The agent according to Claim 1 featuring with that it contains 0:01 kg - 1 kg of at least one element selected from the group containing sodium, iron, boron, molybdenum, copper and zinc or, if needed, together with the complement-forming additive, per 100 I of water.
8. The agent according to one of the Claims 1 through 7 featuring with that it contains at least one auxiliary substance selected from the group containing surfactants, emulsifiers, thickeners, adhesives, binders, fillers and other acceptable for use in agriculture substances as an auxiliary additive.
9. The agent according to one of the Claims 1 through 8 featuring with that it contains, in combination with the specified compounds, the substance selected from the group containing pesticides, particularly herbicides, growth stimulators and other substances with the already known effect.
10. The agent intended for protection of plants according to one of the Claims 1 through 9 featuring with that it contains, in combination with the given compounds, at least one obvious inactive addition, as dyes, perfumes, frost resistant additives, stabilizers, surfactants, emulsifiers, thickeners, adhesives, binders, fillers and other substances acceptable for use in agriculture.
