Abstract

The invention relates to an intermediate storage device (1), especially for a vehicle, for storing electrical energy. The device comprises an intermediate storage unit (2), which can be connected to at least one supply unit (3) for receiving energy and at least one consumer unit (5) for releasing energy. A monitoring unit (9) is provided for monitoring the receiving of energy by comparing at least one predetermined theoretical receiving function (19) with an actual receiving function (15) and for monitoring the release of energy by comparing at least one predetermined theoretical release function (20) with an actual release function (16). Said unit releases a signal and/or information if there is a predetermined deviation between the theoretical receiving function (19) and the actual receiving function (15) or between the theoretical release function (20) and the actual release function (16).
