Die Erfindung betrifft ein elektrisch betriebenes Haushaltgerät mit einem Eingabemittel, durch dessen Betätigung die elektrische Ausrüstung des Haushaltgerätes oder ein Teil derselben eingeschaltet wird. Derartige Haushaltgeräte sind allgemein üblich, eines besonderen Nachweises darüber bedarf es nicht. Zur Vermeidung eines unautorisierten Zugangs zu einem solchen Haushaltgerät beispielsweise einer Waschmaschine in einem Gemeinschaftsraum sind bereits diverse Einrichtungen geschaffen worden, die zusätzlich zum Haushaltgerät zu installieren sind, besondere Kosten verursachen und unter gewissen Umständen sogar mehr oder weniger leicht zu umgehen sind. Ferner sind auch im abgeschlossenen Haushalt hin und wieder Sperren gegen die Inbetriebnahme eines Haushaltgerätes erwünscht.The invention relates to an electrically operated household appliance with an input means, the actuation of which switches on the electrical equipment of the household appliance or a part thereof. Erfindungsgemäß wird diese Aufgabe dadurch gelöst, daß mit dem Eingabemittel eine Erkennungseinrichtung verbunden ist, die den Fingerabdruck der Betätigungsperson lesen und erkennen kann, wenn der Fingerabdruck der Betäti- gungsperson in einem Speicher der Erkennungseinrichtung abgelegt ist, und die nach der Wiedererkennung eines Fingerabdrucks beim Vergleich mit einem oder mehreren im Speicher abgelegten Fingerabdrücken die Einschaltung der elektrischen Ausrüstung oder eines Teils derselben veranlaßt. Dadurch kann zweifelsfrei erkannt werden, ob die betätigende Person berechtigt ist, das betreffende Haushaltgerät zu bedienen.
