Abstract
Description
Self-adjusting rebate support for miter cutting machines, in particular for frame moldings.
The invention lies in the technical field of framing and aims to improve a miter cutting machine for moldings using a self-adjusting rebate support.
It is well known to equip such machines with rebate supports mounted to slide on two guides oriented at 45 ° relative to the plane of the molding. These supports which slide under the rebate have the function of supporting the molding during the cutting operation, in order to avoid its tilting and an imperfect cut. But for this it is necessary that the horizontal heel of the rebate support is adjusted under the re-entrant angle of the rebate and against it, as perfectly as possible without lifting the molding. Until now knurled buttons associated with the movable mechanism that constitutes the rebate support, allow to raise or lower the heel of the support to place it in the right place against the molding. This operation is not always easy for the user who, if the molding is not properly maintained on a work table, will result in its lifting above the table. This mechanism therefore lacks sensitivity and requires the user to trial and error before locking the rebate support at the correct height.
The Applicant intends to remedy these drawbacks by proposing a self-adjusting rebate support, of simple handling, by means of which the support is always correctly placed relative to the rebate, without displacement of the latter.
L'invention se caractérise par le fait que laThe subject of the invention is therefore a rebate support for a miter cutting machine, in particular for framing moldings, comprising a right-angled rebate bottom stop mounted on a rod movable on said support and comprising locking means. in height of the rod on the support. The invention is characterized in that the
More precisely, the blocking mechanism consists of a clamping collar sliding on the rod, the two wings of which are pierced with orifices for the passage of the axis of a blocking handle. The operation of the rebate support and the advantages which it provides will emerge from the description which follows of a preferred embodiment in which reference is made to the appended drawings which represent: FIG. 1, a perspective view of a machine to be cut into a miter fitted with rebate supports according to the invention.
Figure 2, a sectional view on a larger scale of a rebate support.
Figure 3, une vue en coupe à plus grande échelle selon III-III de la figure 2,FIG. 3, a sectional view on a larger scale according to III-III of FIG. 2,
Figures 4 to 6 are views in elevation of the machine in successive operating phases.
For this, cutting irons not shown are placed along two horizontal guides 4 oriented at 45 ° relative to the stops 2. Each of these guides 4 is hollowed out with a groove 5 used for sliding a rebate support designated in its assembly by the reference 1 and shown in more detail in Figure 2. the rebate support 1 is mounted on a slide 10 which is placed in the groove 5, slide to which it is fixed by a screw 11. The support 1 develops vertically above the slide and serves as a housing for a sliding rod 12 secured to a rebate bottom stop 13 in the form of a square. A return spring 14 is interposed between the end of the rod 12 and the base of the support 1. At the upper part of said support is mounted and • fixed by a screw 19 a clamp 15 also visible in Figure 3, collar whose two wings (15a, 15b) are pierced with holes 16 for the passage of the axis of a locking lever 17 visible in FIG. 1. The end of the collar is provided with an opening 18 which is engaged on the rod 12. The latter moves freely in the opening as long as the two wings (15a, 15b) of the collar were not tightened by the lever. In the position illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 4, the molding 3 bears against the stops 2 and the rebate supports 1 are spaced therefrom.
The first operation for the user consists in loosening the locking handle 17 which allows the wings of the clamp 15 to spread apart and thus releases the sliding rod 12.
We can then push this rod 12 against the force of the return spring 14, as shown in Figure 5. Thus the rabbet bottom stop 13 comes in the low position, and acting horizontally in the direction of the arrow , the rebate support 1 is moved, so that the stop 13 slides under the molding 3. During this movement, the molding is manually held against the stops 2. Then the pressure is released on the rod 12, that the spring 14 pushes back upwards until the stop 13 comes to bear against the upper part of the rebate, the molding still being held in place manually. It then remains for the user to lock the rod 12 in this position using the locking handle 17, as shown in FIG. 6. Of course, the two rebate supports 1 are handled in the same way.
There is thus an automatic means of adjusting the rebate support to the correct height with respect to a frame molding, without the user having to make any particular and tedious adjustments.
