Abstract

A method for generating a 2D image of a 3D scene (565) from a point of view, the 3D scene including a first surface (830) reflected in a second surface (800). The method generates an auxiliary 2D image of the reflection of the first surface by reflecting the surface through a plane (fig. 10). A clipping plane is used to remove a portion of the reflected image that obstructs the view of the second surface (870), The method composites the reflected image with an image of the second surface which does not include the reflection by mapping the reflected image (861).
