Abstract

A process for releasing and isolating nucleic acids from biological compartments of a sample makes use of a device which is suitable for accepting one or more sample processing containers, thermostatically controlling and agitating the sample processing containers and magnetically separating magnetic particles. The isolation of nucleic acids is substantially simplified thereby.
