Abstract

Process and device for injecting a sample into the separation column of a gas-phase chromatograph. According to the process (a) the means (7) for feeding the sample to the column (12) are connected by means of the following (listed in order of the downstream direction): an injection means (2), an expansion chamber (3), a connection means (4) provided with an inlet (13) for the carrier gas; (b) the carrier gas is fed through the inlet (13) of the connecting means (4); (c) the sample is injected using an injection means (2); (d) after a set time, the carrier gas supply according to (b) is cut off; (e) the carrier gas is fed during a set time using the injection means (2); (f) the carrier gas supply according to (e) is cut off; (g) the carrier gas is fed through the inlet (13) of the connection means (4), the injection means (2) being connected to escape means (17). The process and the device are designed for on-line industrial analysis.
