Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for miter-compatible cutting of abutting edges on rubber plates or plates made of a similar material, with a knife inclined transversely to the cutting direction, which is mounted on a base frame provided with a support plane for the rubber plate and two guide rails slidably in the cutting direction , being a first
- Adjacent rubber sheets have the same miter and a completely flat surface, so that the abutting surfaces face each other completely flat.
- a device of the type mentioned is known from US-PS 45 16 451.
- the rubber plate is held on the support level by negative pressure, while the knife, which is also inclined in the cutting direction, holds a strip cuts off.
- the cut surfaces achieved in this way require reworking by grinding, since wavy cuts cannot be avoided.
- the knife has a heatable blade and that two directly in the cutting direction extending next to the blade Terminal strips for the rubber plate are attached, of which a first with a lying in the support plane
- Long edge lies on the lower side of the blade and of which a second, lying above the support plane at a distance, lies with a longitudinal edge on the upper side of the blade.
- a cutting knife as described in EP-A-92 835 is particularly preferably used here.
- Rubber plate level acts, no transverse forces on the
- the clamping strips can be dimensioned relatively weak, and the clamping pressure on the rubber plate can also be very low. It is practically sufficient that the clamping strips hold the rubber plate only to such an extent that they do not withstand the cutting pressure
- first guide rail is designed as a bar arranged next to the first terminal block, the top of which lies in the support plane and the lower longitudinal edge facing the terminal block has a longitudinally extending guide recess into which the free end of the blade engages from below, the blade extending between the first terminal block and the first guide rail. This will force the free end of the blade from the first terminal block and the downward facing
- the second guide rail can be formed from two laterally spaced guide rails, on which a slide is slidably mounted in the cutting direction, the knife being releasably attached to the slide at an inclination corresponding to the miter.
- Carriage can be exchanged, which has a different height and thus enables a different miter to be cut.
- the second guide rail can consist of at least one
- Carriage body is enclosed, the knife being releasably attached to the carriage body at an inclination corresponding to the miter.
- Such rod guides which have one or two guide rods, have long been known per se. With this type of guidance, the sled body cannot be removed, but instead in the case of particularly thick rubber plates, which oppose the knife with a very high cutting pressure, the guidance of the knife is facilitated, since the force exerted on the knife by the operator to move the carriage cannot cause the carriage body to be inadvertently lifted off.
- Miter bodies which differ in the height and inclination of the contact surface for the knife, the device can be converted to cut different miter angles on the abutting edges of the rubber plates.
- Terminal strips adjustable to the cutting direction are attached to the base frame. This allows the terminal strips to be adjusted to the inclination of the blade.
- the second clamping strip is attached to the base frame such that it can be adjusted in height transversely to the support plane, since the device can also be adapted to different thicknesses of rubber sheets.
- the blade of the knife is U-shaped, wherein a first leg forms the free end of the blade guided in the first guide rail and extends with its free leg end in the cutting direction, and the edge of the crossbar facing the legs is designed as a cutting edge.
- the length of the crossbar of the blade is preferred.
- the distance should not be much larger, so that the leading legs of the U-shaped blade can better fulfill their leadership role and one

- the device 1 comprises a base frame 7, consisting of two cross struts 8 which are essentially parallel to one another and spaced apart from one another and one which is screwed to the underside of the cross struts 8
- the first guide rail 10 is at a distance from the second
- the top of the first guide rail 10 thus lies in the support plane E and thus serves to support the rubber plate 4.
- the previously mentioned longitudinal strut 9 is also arranged.
- the first guide rail 10 has a recess on its edge facing the knife 5 and towards the bottom
- This recess 10 which extends over the entire Length of the first guide rail 10 extends, serves to guide the free end of the blade 6 and to ensure that the free end 13 of the blade 6 does not protrude beyond the underside of the guide rail 11.
- clamping strips 14 and 15 are attached to the base frame and also extend in the cutting direction S. With their ends, the terminal strips 14 and 15 are screwed to the cross struts 8, respectively
- Elongated holes 16 are provided, which allow the terminal strips 14 and 15 transversely to the cutting direction S
- Terminal block 14 can also by providing
- Washers or the like can be adjusted in height and thus adjusted to the thickness of the rubber plates 4.
- FIG. 4 shows a preferred embodiment of a blade 6 for the knife 5. It can be seen that the blade is essentially U-shaped, with a lower leg 17 at the free end 13 and an upper leg 18. The cutting edge of the blade 6 is formed by the front edge of the crossbar 19 facing the legs 17 and 18 . It can be seen that the cutting edge 20 runs essentially at right angles to the cutting direction S.
- the relatively narrow front region which has the cutting edge 20, acts as an electrical one Resistance to a current sent through the blade, causing the area around the cutting edge 20 in
- Seen cutting direction S the cutting edge 20 runs, is guided in the guide recess 12 of the first guide rail 10 and thus causes a centering of the blade 6 during cutting.
- both legs 17 and 18 also serve to dissipate heat from the part of the blade 6 which is located outside the rubber.
- the clear distance a between the two legs 17 and 18, which essentially corresponds to the length of the cutting edge 20, is approximately 1.3 times the cutting width L1 or L2 at the abutting edges 2 in the embodiments under consideration here and 3 (see FIGS. 3 and 6).
- the second guide rail consists of two laterally spaced strips 22 and 23 on which a carriage 24 in the cutting direction S

- the second guide rail 11 is formed by two guide rods 23 and 29, which are at both ends in one on the cross struts 8 fixed bracket 30 are held.
- the two guide rods 2 and 29 are encompassed by a carriage body 31 which runs along the
- Ball rollers can also be provided for easier mobility. These measures are also known.
- a hearing body 32 is releasably attached to the carriage 24 or the carriage body 31.
- the miter body 32 has on it
- Inclined surface 33 which serves as a support for the 6 round body of the knife 5.
- a clamping bracket 34 is also provided on the inclined surface 33, with which the knife 5 can be detachably attached to the inclined surface 33.
- Inclined surface 33 ' has a different inclination and the height of which is changed in order to cut a different miter in this way.
- the clamping strips 14 and 15 can be adjusted transversely to the cutting direction for this purpose.
- a rubber plate 4 is placed on the base frame 7, ie more precisely on the top of the longitudinal strut 9, the top of the first guide rail 10 and the top of the terminal block 15. Since the second guide rail 11 is arranged at a distance above the support plane E, rubber plates 4 can also be cut with the device be that with both ends out of the device
- Cutting direction S are pushed, wherein the heated blade 6 cuts through the rubber plate according to the desired miter, so that two identically formed abutting edges 2 and 3 are formed.
