Abstract

Pour effectuer le soudage, les bords se chevauchant sont pressés l'un contre l'autre entre deux bandes (16, 18) qui sont entraînées de manière circulaire dans le sens longitudinal. La bande intérieure (16) qui passe à l'intérieur du corps tubulaire (38) est pourvue d'une rainure longitudinale (40) qui reçoit au moins partiellement la région des bords se chevauchant (42, 44). La rainure longitudinale (40) forme la région, orientée vers l'intérieur, de la soudure du corps tubulaire (38) et empêche la matière plastique liquéfiée pour le soudage de se dilater par suite de la pression d'application. On est ainsi assuré que la matière est complètement soudée au niveau des deux bords (42, 44), de sorte qu'aucune région marginale exprimée de matière liquide ne se refroidit prématurément et par conséquent n'adhère pas à la couche de matière opposée.
