Definitions
- the subject of the present invention is a jaw model according to the preamble of patent claim 1. Many dentist patients have the need to be better informed about exactly what the dentist is doing for tooth-preserving resp. partially prosthetic works on their teeth.
- German patent specification No. 495 122 describes an illustrative model for dental purposes with artificial jaws and teeth that can be inserted into them. The individual teeth are easily replaceable in the jaw openings. With the help of this known visual model, a certain dentition condition can be demonstrated and the dental bridges that were common at the time can be explained with the help of spare parts of the person concerned. With this known model, a certain pathological condition of the dentition can be demonstrated.
- One disadvantage is that a very large number of additional parts are required, which complicates the handling of the model and the manufacturing price is very high.
- Fig. 1 shows an upper jaw model with the individual tooth-preserving resp. partially prosthetic organs in an exploded perspective view
- Fig. 2 is a maxilla model with organs used.
- FIG. 3 shows a section along line III-III of FIG. 1.
- the upper jaw model 1 according to FIG. 1 is preferably made of plastic, but can also be made of porcelain, plaster or metal etc. Openings 2 for inserting pins 3 are provided in a support body 1.
- the pins 3 are preferably also made of plastic. They correspond approximately to the tooth root with or without a crown, whereby the crown can be ground off.
- the third molar 4 in the upper right of the upper jaw model is designed as a healthy tooth.
- the second molar 5 at the top right is provided with a full cast crown 6 made of gold.
- the first molar 7 at the top right is again designed as a healthy tooth.
- the defective second molar 5 is designed as a pin 3 which can be inserted into the supporting body 1.
- Push button or coronal fricative attachment 13 is formed for holding the switching element 11 of the partial prosthesis 12.
- the push button 13 is preferably made of gold.
- the root of the upper canine on the right is again designed as a removable pin 3.
- Incisor tooth 14 at the top right and an incisor tooth 15 at the top left are designed as ground pillars for a porcelain bridge which carries the replacement tooth 16 for the missing incisor tooth.
- the roots of the cutting teeth 14 and 15 with the ground-off crown are again designed as removable pins 3.
- the other incisor top left is designed as a porcelain crown 17, the root of which is again made as a removable pin 3.
- the canine tooth at the top left is designed as a pin tooth 18.
- the first premolar 19 at the top left is provided with a gold filling (inlay) 20.
- the second premolar 21 at the top left is designed as a porcelain crown with an extracoronal fricative attachment 22 for holding the free end 23 of the partial prosthesis 12.
- the molars 24, 25 and 26 are provided in the upper left in porcelain.
- the contact piece 11 of the partial prosthesis is also provided with a double arm clamp with a support 27.
- the switching piece 11 and the free end 23 of the partial prosthesis 12 are connected to one another with a palatal strap 28.
- Artificial gums 29 and 30 are also formed on the switching piece 11 and on the free end 23 of the partial prosthesis 12.
- the pin tooth 18 is built on a stump structure 31 made of gold and a porcelain crown 32.
- FIG. 2 shows the supporting body 1 according to FIG. 1 in or on which the teeth and dental prostheses described above are inserted or placed. Because the individual teeth and dental prostheses have a lifelike shape, the person to be advised can be shown an aesthetic and not a possibly frightening jaw model. By restricting the display of one of the various measures to be taken to a specific location on the jaw model, the number of prostheses to be demonstrated can be reduced and their embodiment can be made better and more realistic. The person concerned cannot be shown the measures to be taken in the place that applies to them in all cases, but it can be demonstrated in a very realistic way in another place. The person in question can therefore get a better picture of the finished dental prosthetic work of the dentist or dental technician and can clearly imagine the condition of the denture in the correct position. With this information, the trust between the dentist and the patient in terms of pricing can be promoted, because the patient can see the expensive work clearly.
- a lower jaw model can also be made to demonstrate the possibilities of dental prosthetics with the help of implants and adhesive bridges, eg Maryland bridges. These implants could of course also on the upper jaw and the tooth-preserving resp. partial prosthetic organs are demonstrated on a mandible model.
- the pins 3 and the support body 1 are preferably designed such that the pins are pushed upwards by hand on the support body and the individual organs can thus be easily removed.
- the support body 1 has an edge 36 which surrounds a recess 37 on the back of the support body 1.
- the openings 2, of which only one is visible in FIG. 3, are continuous, i.e. they open into the recess 37.
- the pins 3 of the first molar 7 or the organs protrude into the recess 37 in the inserted state. By pressing with a fingertip on the end of the pin protruding into the recess 37, the tooth or organ in question can be easily detached and removed from the supporting body 1.
- the infrastructures to be made by the dentist can be inserted into the supporting body 1, onto which infrastructure the superstructure to be made by the dental technician is based - bar, the replacement of teeth 13 and 7 with prepared teeth results in a comprehensive training model for the fabrication of supra structures.
- the jaw model described above can therefore advantageously 'also for training of future gen dentists and / or dental technicians used because the infra and the super structures are very lifelike.
- the same jaw model can equally be used by the dentist for demonstration for the patient and for training for prospective dentists and dental technicians.
