Definitions

  • the subject of the present invention is a jaw model according to the preamble of patent claim 1. Many dentist patients have the need to be better informed about exactly what the dentist is doing for tooth-preserving resp. partially prosthetic works on their teeth.
  • German patent specification No. 495 122 describes an illustrative model for dental purposes with artificial jaws and teeth that can be inserted into them. The individual teeth are easily replaceable in the jaw openings. With the help of this known visual model, a certain dentition condition can be demonstrated and the dental bridges that were common at the time can be explained with the help of spare parts of the person concerned. With this known model, a certain pathological condition of the dentition can be demonstrated.
  • One disadvantage is that a very large number of additional parts are required, which complicates the handling of the model and the manufacturing price is very high.

  • FIG. 2 shows the supporting body 1 according to FIG. 1 in or on which the teeth and dental prostheses described above are inserted or placed. Because the individual teeth and dental prostheses have a lifelike shape, the person to be advised can be shown an aesthetic and not a possibly frightening jaw model. By restricting the display of one of the various measures to be taken to a specific location on the jaw model, the number of prostheses to be demonstrated can be reduced and their embodiment can be made better and more realistic. The person concerned cannot be shown the measures to be taken in the place that applies to them in all cases, but it can be demonstrated in a very realistic way in another place. The person in question can therefore get a better picture of the finished dental prosthetic work of the dentist or dental technician and can clearly imagine the condition of the denture in the correct position. With this information, the trust between the dentist and the patient in terms of pricing can be promoted, because the patient can see the expensive work clearly.

  • the openings 2, of which only one is visible in FIG. 3, are continuous, i.e. they open into the recess 37.
  • the pins 3 of the first molar 7 or the organs protrude into the recess 37 in the inserted state. By pressing with a fingertip on the end of the pin protruding into the recess 37, the tooth or organ in question can be easily detached and removed from the supporting body 1.
  • the infrastructures to be made by the dentist can be inserted into the supporting body 1, onto which infrastructure the superstructure to be made by the dental technician is based - bar, the replacement of teeth 13 and 7 with prepared teeth results in a comprehensive training model for the fabrication of supra structures.
  • the jaw model described above can therefore advantageously 'also for training of future gen dentists and / or dental technicians used because the infra and the super structures are very lifelike.
  • the same jaw model can equally be used by the dentist for demonstration for the patient and for training for prospective dentists and dental technicians.
