Abstract

A linear electric motor comprises a stator, the magnetic circuit of which is formed by two equidistant strips (1, 2) made of a ferromagnetic material and provided with uniformly intermitting protrusion (3) and recesses (4). A movable core (5) is provided with intermittent sections of high and low magnetic permeability and is placed between the said strips. The motor is provided with an excitation system and with armature windings (9) with equal number of sections. The movable core (5) is divided, along its length, by a non-magnetic gap into a plurality of parts, each of those parts being provided, on both active sides of the core (5) facing the stator, with slots (8) for placing one of the coil groups of the armature windings (9), those slots being made in a direction perpendicular to the direction of displacement of the movable core (5) and coaxially on each active side. The excitation system comprises at least one exciting winding (10) placed in longitudinal slots (11) of at least one part (6, 7) of the movable core (5) so that the longitudinal slots (11) are orientated along the stator and provide for an H-shaped form of the cross-section of the movable core (5). Protrusions (3) of the strips (1, 2) of the stator are located in each of them in rows according to the number of parts of the movable core (5) and in chess-board order so that against a protrusion (3) of one strip (1) is placed a recess (4) of the other strip and each armature winding (9) is placed in the slot (8) of a single active side in such a manner that the distance between the branches of each of its sections is equal to the width of the protrusion (3) of the strip of the stator.
