Abstract
Proceso para la extracción de cobre a partir de una mena o concentrado de sulfuro de cobre, comprendiendo los pasos de: someter la mena o concentrado a oxidación por presión en presencia de oxígeno y una solución de haluro ácido para obtener una suspensión líquido/sólido para obtener un filtrado de oxidación por presión resultante y un residuo sólido conteniendo una sal de sulfato básico de cobre insoluble, caracterizado en que la oxidación por presión se conduce en presencia de una fuente de iones de bisulfato o sulfato que se selecciona del grupo que consiste en ácido sulfúrico y un sulfato metálico que se hidroliza en solución ácida y en donde la cantidad de la fuente de iones de bisulfato o sulfato que se añade contiene por lo menos la cantidad estequiométrica de iones de sulfato o bisulfato requerida para producir la sal básica de sulfato de cobre menos la cantidad de sulfato generado in situ en la oxidación por presión En particular el haluro es seleccionado de cloruro o bromuro.
