Abstract
Procedimiento para la precipitación y separación del arsénico de soluciones que contienen cobre, que en caso dado pueden contener ulteriores metales no férricos, por vía metalúrgica húmeda, donde la solución, siempre que los iones en ella contenidos no se encuentren ya en la etapa de valencia máxima, se tratan con agentes de oxidación hasta alcanzar este estado bajo mantenimiento de un pH <= 1, se agrega una cantidad de hierro superior a la estoquiométrica con respecto al arsénico, en forma de una sal de hierro soluble en ácido y se disuelve, en caso dado se oxida ulteriormente, mediante elevación del pH por adición de alcali, preferentemente cal, se precipita una mezcla de arsenato de hierro e hidróxido de hierro en exceso, así como en caso dado yeso, y este producto precipitado se separa junto con los residuos del material de partida insolubles en ácido de la lejía madre y ésta se elabora en forma conocida para la obtención del cobre y de los demás metales aun existentes, caracterizado porque el valor pH de precipitación en la soluciones conteniendo cloruro se ajustan a 2,0 hasta 2,5, preferentemente 2,2 hasta 2,3 y, en las soluciones puramente sulfáticas a 2,8 hasta 3,2, preferentemente 2,9 hasta 3,0.
