sLEEvE-FAsT'ENER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented March 6, 1906.
Application filed September 26, 1905. Serial No. 280,206.
T0 all?, whom t may concern: l
Be it known that I, GILBERT H. RUSSELL, a citizen of the UnitedStates, residing at Laurinburg, in the county of Scotland and State of North Carolina, have invented a new and useful Sleeve-Fastener, of which the fol-l i lowing is a specification.
This invention rel tes The object of the invention is to provide a novel form of sleeve-fastener which when assembled with a Wristband Will permit the latter readily to be passed over the hand of the wearer or to be moved up and over the larger parts of the arm Aand be retained in such position.
With the above and other objects in view, as will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel construction and combination of parts of a sleeve-fastener, as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, and in which like characters of reference indicate corresponding parts, Figure 1 is a view. in perspective to sleeve-fasteners.
of a Wristband, exhibiting the same equipped with one of the fasteners of the present Invention. Fig. 2 is a view in elevation, partly in' section, of the form of fastener shown inFig. 1. i
The fastener embodies' a pair of buttons 10, which may be made of any suitable material and the outer surfaces of which may be ornamented in any preferrred manner. The buttons are connected by an elastic shank l1, which may be made of any material suited for the purpose, in this instance ordinary elastic cord, the terminals of which are combined with the buttons by providing the latter with sockets 12, having spurs or prongs 13, that are adapted to be sunk into the material of the shank, and thus hold all the parts positively assembled.
A sleeve-fastener comprising a pair of buttons, sockets provided with spurs or prongs arranged on the inner sides of the buttons, and an elastic shank having its terminals seated within the sockets and held therein by the prongs.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto aflixed my signature in thepresence of two witnesses.
AGILBERT E. RUSSELL.
