Be it known that I, JOHN ROEDER, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Denver, in the county of Arapahoe and State of Colorado, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in strop-Holders for Barber-Chairs; and I do declare the following to be a full. clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

My invention relates to a device adapted to be attached to barber-chairs for holding the razor-strop, my object being to provide a device of this class which shall be simple in construction, economical in cost, reliable, durable, and efficient in use; and to these ends the invention consists of the features hereinafter described and claimed, all of which will be fully understood by reference to the accompanying drawings, in which is illustrated an embodiment thereof.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective View of a barber-chair with my improved strop-holding device attached. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the device shown in detail. Fig. 3 is an end view of the same with a snap and ring attached.

The same reference characters indicate the same parts in all the views.

Let the numeral 5 designate each of two members forming a clamp adapted to be applied to the arm of the chair 10. Each of these members consists of a depending part 5, a horizontal outwardly-projecting part 5, and an upwardly-projecting part 5. the openings in the other member are plain To the inner surface of each part 5 is applied a disk 7, which is fastened by a'rivet 8. This rivet projects inwardly beyond the face of the disk and is sharpened to form a short brad adapted to engage the arm of the chair to facilitate the holding of the device in place. To one of the members 5 is attached a spring-hook 9, which projects upwardly outside of the part 5 To this hook may be attached a ring 2, which supports the snap-hook 13, with which the razorstrop 14 maybe connected, or the ring and snap-hook may be dispensed with and the strop applied directly to the hook 9.

When the device is in use, itis applied to the under side of the chair-arm and clamped in place by means of the screws. (See Fig. 1.)

Having thus described myinvention, what I claim is A strop-holding attachment for barberchairs comprising two cooperating clamping members having depending parallel parts, horizontal parts extending outwardly in opposite directions from the upper extremities of the depending parts, and at right angles to the latter, parallel opposing parts extending upwardly from the horizontal parts, disks applied to the respective upwardly-projecting parts, rivets holding the respective disks in place and protruding on the faces of the disks to form holding-brads, and screws passing through registering openings formed in the depending parts and threaded in one of said parts.
