V r .1 Claim. This is a divisional application of my co-pending application, Serial No. 397,636, filed June 11, 1941.

The present invention relates to new and useful improvements in combination sinks and washtubs and has'particular reference to a cover attachment for the sink and tub adapted to close the same when not in use.

An important object of the invention is to provide pivot members at one edge of the cover seated in the recesses at the opposed walls of the sink and tub to facilitate upward swinging movementofthelid. l H

An additional object is to provide a device of this character of simple and practical construction, which is neat and attractive in appearance, relatively inexpensive to manufacture and install in position and otherwise well adapted for the purposes for which the same is intended.

The adjacent edges of the sink and tub are spaced apart and connected by a horizontal web memberB which extends from front to rear of the sink and tub members.

The lid is adapted to swing into a covering position on either the sink or tub and its free edges rest on shoulders 21 on the inner walls of the sink and tub to support the lid substantially flush with the upper edges thereof.

Handles 28 and 29 are secured to opposite sides of the lid adjacent its free edge to raise the same a from one position to the other.

It is believed the details of construction, operation and manner of use of the device will be readily understood from the foregoing without further detailed explanation.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is:

A combined sink and tub construction having front, rear and side walls and-said side walls having inwardly disposed shoulders and said front and rear walls having recesses therein on their inner surfaces at a point above the adjacent side walls of the sink and tub and above saidshoula lid having projections at opposite side edges pivoted in said recesses and swingable into a position over either the sink or the tub for resting on the shoulders therein.
