Description
May 29, 1945. T ATZMAN 2,376,969
BLOUSE STRUCTURE AND THE LIKE Filed May 27, 1943 Patented May 29, 1945 Thislnvention relates teimprovementsin gar meant-structures; and in particular to blouses and thelike; "1 v l. It is an object of -thepresent "invention taprovide a bi use having means' for properly; adequatelslyifi d adj ustably arranging a bl'ouse or "like 'ga-rme t on the upper 1 body part, such' as= bust, back and waist-' of the wearer whereby various eil'ects with respect-to appearance and mizing-of the blouse'or like garment mayibe achievedfl It is another object of thisinvention:to are vide' a blouse or lik'e garment which is -simple in construction; easy to 'manufacture at reduced cost and which isadapted-to fit di-n'eren't sizes of -the waistlin'e 'of -persons without anyalteration of shown inpFigs. '1 to 3 a garment, such" "lady's blouse 'lflrnade' in accordancewith 'thisinventton.
' "Blouse" lfl comp'rises n't part or section l1, back or rear section"! and 1 sleee'ves l3; Front section H "and rear sedtiori l2 fare connected-tother only' at the s ruminat ons 1ceation;unuer'=-tn arrh it ediacent 1 seam 14a 'wlii'ch connects' the 'sleeve 'l-twith said a nect'ed to the upper portion of 'said' frontsedt' ion the seams of the blouse or other changes hereto fore necessary to obtain proper fitting.
A further object of the present invention is' to provide means for retaining a blouse or like structure in position with respect to the skirt by tucking the blouseiunder the skirt at the rear part thereof and permitting the blouse to fall-over the skirt at its front and further to provide means to adjust the front part of the blouse to corre spond to the shape of the bust and further to snugly fit the waist line of the wearer.
Still another object of the present invention is toprovide meansfor adjusting and fitting the blouse or like garment structure under the arms of the wearer, the blouse being constructed with or without sleeves, and permitting air circulation at blouse portions adjacent the armpit.
Still a further object of thisi nvention is to provide a blous and thelike adapted for sport and dressy'wear and whose front section may be made of a material difierent in color'and quality from that of the rear section of the blouse.
This invention further consists of several features and has many advantages as will hereinafter more clearly appear from the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention, as illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which:
Fig. 1 is-a front elevational view of the blouse structure as worn by a person.
Fig. 2 is an elevational view seen from the rear of Fig. 1. v t
Fig. 3 shows on reduced scale a side elevational view of the blouse in its formwhen worn by a person. i
Fig. 4 is a view on enlarged scale of a side part of the blouse, as seen from the inside of the blouse.
'In the particular embodiment chosen for the purpose of illustrating the invention, thereis and said 'rear' sec tio'n. racntseetion instance, is buttoned at I6 to open section of blouse W" and terminates} I pointed or somewhat curved lower ends l ladapted toiall over 'the upper iiront -edge 'Jof the r'sk'i-rt l l'i (as in:
dicated in dot and dash lines).
Front section l l has side pieces I! which loosely and sidewardly overlap rear section I! (Fig. 2),
said side pieces I9 being each substantially triangularly shaped and terminating in edges and 2 I, From pointed ends 22, 23 of side pieces I 9, re-
spectively, there extend strips or ribbon portions 24, 25 for tightening said side pieces on back section I2, as at 26 and to retain front section II in position at the frontand waist of the wearer.
As can be clearly seen in Figs. 1 and 2, lower part 21 of back or rear section I2 is tucked under skirt l8 and projects sidewardly and toward the front at the inside of the skirt, yas indicated at 28. In order to give shape and body to the loose front section lkl, darts 29 and 30 are provided; the latter extending substantially under the arms forwardly in the direction of the'bust of the wearer.
Fig, 4 shows [on a larger scale a part of the blouse structure, as seen from the inside of the blouse at the fixation of its right sleeve. According to this invention, front section I I and rear section l2 are so disposed at the sleeve, edge 3| Which comes to lieadjacentthe armpit that said sections overlap each other thereat and are fixed by a shortstitching or tacking at or between points 32 and 33 positioned at a location coinciding with seam Illa, at said sleeve edge 3|. Thus, seam edge 34 of rearsection l2 comes to lie loosely underneath front'section II, as can be realizedfrom Fig. 4 showinga blouse portion as seen from the insidethereof at'the right sleeve I 3. Front section II is cut to 'sl-ant somewhat toward the rear section I2, as can be seen in Figs.
3 and 4.
Due to this arrangement which causes the side edge 2| (of front section II) and side edge 28 (of rear section H) to overlap each other since they are not connected together by anylongituthis i dinal seams, the new blouse structure can be I 1 readily and properly adjusted to the individual 1 size of the wearer, and various effects may be 1 obtained with respect to the appearance and fit- 1 ting (snug or draped) ,of the blouse on the wearer.
It is well understood that the front section of i the blouse may be also tucked under the skirt, j if so'desiredr Lower edge 20 and tie means 24, 25 attached thereto are preferably positioned along the waist I line of thefwearer; 1
Due to the fact that the 5101s.; is open'di- 5 rectly under the sleeve and next to the armpit no perspiration will afiect the blouse material since always air circulation will be maintained'.
It is further to be-kept in mind that theblouse structure can be manufactured with long or short sleeves or without any sleeves, andthat no" alterations or changes-of the seams are required to fit various sizes of personswearing suchgarment structure. nAlthough' the above; improvements relating to ,garment and in partioularto 'blouse structures 1 haveibeen describedwithrespectv to a certain'einbodimentof ,theinventiom-Jtis not .desiredrtobe limited to such details since changeszand modil fications inthe form, arrangements, proportions and sizes thereof may wellbe made without de- 1 :parting ;from ;the spirit andgscope of the inven-1 .tion'initsbroadest aspect. I a :Having thus described the invention, what is .claimedas new and-desired to be secured b Let- 1 tersgPatent is:-
