This invention relates to window shade fittings that are usually secured to window frames and are utilized for supporting the journals of the shade rollers.
The principal object of the invention is to provide improved window shade fittings that are simple, inexpensive, strong, durable, conveniently and economically manufacturable, and conveniently utilizable.
Another object is to provide window shade fittings having improved means for compensating any discrepancies occurring in the lengths of the shade rollers to which they may have been cut.
Other objects and advantages will hereinafter appear.
In the accompanying drawing,-
Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing a window frame with the fittings of this invention secured thereto.
Fig. 2 shows a side elevation of one of the window shade fittings shown in Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing a modification of the invention.
Fig. 4 shows a side elevation of the window shade fittings shown in Fig. 3.
In Figs. 1, 2, the fitting I consists of a plate 16, which is secured to the window frame 3, and this plate is provided with stamped-away framing portions I! for the reception of the plate-parts I8 from which extend plate-portions 6, I. Screws 5 pass through holes 4 of the portions l1, l8 and thread into the wood for securing the fittings in place. Should these plate- portions 6, 1 become impaired through wear, the same may be removed and new plate-portions inserted into the framing I I. These portions 6, 1 are provided 5 with pairs of thumb-pieces l5, so as to render these fittings interchangeable for either the right or left sides of the window frame.
The terminals 8 of the plate-portions 6, I are provided with bearing openings 9 for receiving 10 and supporting the journals of the spring rollers of the window shades, not shown.
According to the modifications shown in Figs.
3, 4, the plate-parts I8 are held to the plate l6 and aligned therewith by means of ears [9 extending 15 from said parts and entering into openings 20 provided in plate I6.
Variations may be resorted to within the scope of the invention.
Having thus described my invention, I claim 20 A window shade fitting having the combination of a plate adapted to be secured to the window frame, a plate comprising a vertical portion and a springy portion which had been bent away therefrom no further than to a plane which forms 25 an acute angle with said vertical portion, said springy portion having a bearing for the reception of the shade roller journal, and said first plate having means for the interchangeable reception and removal of said vertical portion. 30
