Abstract
A rubbing alcohol dispenser apparatus for applying rubbing alcohol includes a casing having a casing dispense aperture and a thumb slot extending through to a casing inside. A cartridge housing has a housing dispense aperture and a pin slot extending through to a cartridge inside. The cartridge housing is slidably engageable within the casing inside. A dispense plunger and a lift plunger are coupled within the cartridge inside to manipulate a plurality of alcohol pads through a plurality of pad tracks towards the housing dispense aperture. The dispense plunger has a thumb pin extending through the pin slot and accessible through the thumb slot to reset the dispense plunger and allow the lift plunger to advance the plurality of alcohol pads. The housing dispense aperture aligns with the casing dispense aperture to release rubbing alcohol as needed.

- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a casing having a casing front side separated from a casing back side, a casing left side separated from a casing right side, and a casing top side separated from an open casing bottom side defining a casing inside. The casing front side has a casing dispense aperture extending through to the casing inside. The casing left side has a thumb slot extending through to the casing inside from proximal the casing front side to proximal the casing back side aligned with the casing dispense aperture. A cartridge housing has a housing front side separated from a housing back side, a housing left side from a housing right side, and a housing top side separated from a housing bottom side defining a housing inside. The housing back side has a spring protrusion and the housing front side has a housing dispense aperture extending through to the housing inside opposite the spring protrusion. The housing left side has a pin slot extending through to the housing inside from proximal the housing front side to proximal the housing back side between the housing dispense aperture and the spring protrusion. The cartridge housing is slidably engageable within the casing inside through the casing bottom side. The housing dispense aperture and the pin slot align with the casing dispense aperture and the thumb slot, respectively. A dispense plunger is coupled to the cartridge housing. The dispense plunger has a dispense spring coupled within the spring protrusion and a dispense plate coupled to the dispense spring. The dispense plate has a thumb pin extending through the pin slot. A lift plunger is coupled to the cartridge housing. The lift plunger has at least one lift spring coupled to the housing bottom side and a lift plate coupled to the lift spring. A plurality of pad tracks is coupled within the cartridge housing parallel to the lift plate. A plurality of alcohol pads is disposed in rows between the plurality of pad tracks.
- An alternative embodiment of the invention comprises a cylindrical casing having a casing front side separated from an open casing back side and a casing sidewall extending therebetween. The casing front side has a casing dispense aperture extending therethrough. A cylindrical cartridge housing has an open housing front side separated from a housing back side and a housing sidewall extending therebetween. The cartridge housing is slidably engageable within the casing through the casing back side. A dispense plunger is coupled to casing. The dispense plunger has a dispense spring coupled to the housing back side and a dispense plate coupled to the dispense spring. A plurality of alcohol pads is disposed in a stack within the cartridge housing.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

FIGS. 1 through 10 thereof, a new antiseptic device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 10 , the rubbingalcohol dispenser apparatus 10 generally comprises acasing 12 having acasing front side 14 separated from acasing back side 16, a casingleft side 18 separated from a casingright side 20, and a casingtop side 22 separated from an opencasing bottom side 24 defining a casing inside 26. Thecasing front side 14 has acasing dispense aperture 28 extending through to the casing inside 26. The casingleft side 18 has athumb slot 30 extending through to the casing inside 26 from proximal the casingfront side 14 to proximal thecasing back side 16 aligned with thecasing dispense aperture 28. - A
cartridge housing 32 has ahousing front side 34 separated from ahousing back side 36, a housingleft side 38 from a housingright side 40, and ahousing top side 42 separated from ahousing bottom side 44 defining a housing inside 46. Thehousing bottom side 44 has a pair ofspring notches 48. The housing backside 36 has aspring protrusion 50 and thehousing front side 34 has ahousing dispense aperture 52 extending through to the housing inside 46 opposite thespring protrusion 50. The housingleft side 38 has apin slot 54 extending through to the housing inside 46 from proximal thehousing front side 34 to proximal thehousing back side 36 between thehousing dispense aperture 52 and thespring protrusion 50. A width of thethumb slot 30 is greater than a width of thepin slot 54. Thecartridge housing 32 is slidably engageable within the casing inside 26 through thecasing bottom side 24. - The
housing dispense aperture 52 and thepin slot 54 align with thecasing dispense aperture 28 and thethumb slot 30, respectively. Aseal 56 is coupled to thehousing front side 34 over the housing dispenseaperture 52. A dispenseplunger 58 is coupled to thecartridge housing 32. The dispenseplunger 58 has a dispensespring 60 coupled within thespring protrusion 50 and a dispenseplate 62 coupled to the dispensespring 60. The dispenseplate 62 has athumb pin 64 extending through thepin slot 54. Alift plunger 66 is coupled to thecartridge housing 32. Thelift plunger 66 has at least onelift spring 68 coupled to thehousing bottom side 44 and alift plate 70 coupled to thelift spring 68. Thelift spring 68 is two lift springs 68 coupled within the pair ofspring notches 48. A plurality of pad tracks 72 is coupled within thecartridge housing 32 parallel to thelift plate 70. A plurality ofalcohol pads 74 is disposed in rows between the plurality of pad tracks 72. Eachalcohol pad 74 has an ellipsoidalouter skin 76 and an alcohol filling 77 within theouter skin 76. Theouter skin 76 is elastomeric. - In an alternative embodiment of the
invention 11, thecasing 12 is cylindrical and has thecasing front side 14 separated from the casing backside 16 and a casing sidewall 78 extending therebetween. Thecasing front side 14 has the casing dispenseaperture 28 extending therethrough. The casing backside 16 is open to receive thecartridge housing 32. Thecartridge housing 32 is cylindrical and thehousing front side 34 is open and separated from the housing backside 36 and ahousing sidewall 80 extending therebetween. Thecartridge housing 32 is slidably engageable within thecasing 12 through the casing backside 16. The dispenseplunger 58 is coupled to thecasing 12. The dispenseplunger 58 has the dispensespring 60 coupled to the housing backside 36 and the dispenseplate 62 coupled to the dispensespring 60. The plurality ofalcohol pads 74 is disposed in a stack within thecartridge housing 32. There may be a plurality of dispersal holes 84 extending through thecasing front side 14 around the casing dispenseaperture 28. - In use, the user inserts the
cartridge housing 32 into thecasing 12. Thethumb pin 64 is manipulated through thethumb slot 30 and thepin slot 54 to move the dispenseplunger 58 and to eject thealcohol pads 74 through the housing dispenseaperture 52 and the casing dispenseaperture 28 to apply rubbing alcohol to sanitize a target area. yy - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
Claims (9)
1. A rubbing alcohol dispenser apparatus comprising:
a casing having a casing front side separated from a casing back side, a casing left side separated from a casing right side, and a casing top side separated from an open casing bottom side defining a casing inside, the casing front side having a casing dispense aperture extending through to the casing inside, the casing left side having a thumb slot extending through to the casing inside from proximal the casing front side to proximal the casing back side aligned with the casing dispense aperture;
a cartridge housing having a housing front side separated from a housing back side, a housing left side from a housing right side, and a housing top side separated from a housing bottom side defining a housing inside, the housing back side having a spring protrusion and the housing front side having a housing dispense aperture extending through to the housing inside opposite the spring protrusion, the housing left side having a pin slot extending through to the housing inside from proximal the housing front side to proximal the housing back side between the housing dispense aperture and the spring protrusion, the cartridge housing being slidably engageable within the casing inside through the casing bottom side, the housing dispense aperture and the pin slot aligning with the casing dispense aperture and the thumb slot, respectively;
a dispense plunger coupled to the cartridge housing, the dispense plunger having a dispense spring coupled within the spring protrusion and a dispense plate coupled to the dispense spring, the dispense plate having a thumb pin extending through the pin slot;
a lift plunger coupled to the cartridge housing, the lift plunger having at least one lift spring coupled to the housing bottom side and a lift plate coupled to the lift spring;
a plurality of pad tracks coupled to the cartridge housing, the plurality of pad tracks being coupled within the cartridge housing parallel to the lift plate; and
a plurality of alcohol pads, the alcohol pads being disposed in rows between the plurality of pad tracks.
2. The rubbing alcohol dispenser apparatus of claim 1 further comprising each alcohol pad having an ellipsoidal outer skin and an alcohol filling within the outer skin.
3. The rubbing alcohol dispenser apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the outer skin being elastomeric.
4. The rubbing alcohol dispenser apparatus of claim 1 further comprising a seal coupled to the cartridge housing, the seal being coupled to the housing front side over the housing dispense aperture.
5. The rubbing alcohol dispenser apparatus of claim 1 further comprising the housing bottom side having a pair of spring notches, the lift spring being two lift springs coupled within the pair of spring notches.
6. The rubbing alcohol dispenser apparatus of claim 1 further comprising a width of the thumb slot being greater than a width of the pin slot.
7. A rubbing alcohol dispenser apparatus comprising:
a casing having a casing front side separated from a casing back side, a casing left side separated from a casing right side, and a casing top side separated from an open casing bottom side defining a casing inside, the casing front side having a casing dispense aperture extending through to the casing inside, the casing left side having a thumb slot extending through to the casing inside from proximal the casing front side to proximal the casing back side aligned with the casing dispense aperture;
a cartridge housing having a housing front side separated from a housing back side, a housing left side from a housing right side, and a housing top side separated from a housing bottom side defining a housing inside, the housing bottom side having a pair of spring notches, the housing back side having a spring protrusion and the housing front side having a housing dispense aperture extending through to the housing inside opposite the spring protrusion, the housing left side having a pin slot extending through to the housing inside from proximal the housing front side to proximal the housing back side between the housing dispense aperture and the spring protrusion, a width of the thumb slot being greater than a width of the pin slot, the cartridge housing being slidably engageable within the casing inside through the casing bottom side, the housing dispense aperture and the pin slot aligning with the casing dispense aperture and the thumb slot, respectively;
a seal coupled to the cartridge housing, the seal being coupled to the housing front side over the housing dispense aperture;
a dispense plunger coupled to the cartridge housing, the dispense plunger having a dispense spring coupled within the spring protrusion and a dispense plate coupled to the dispense spring, the dispense plate having a thumb pin extending through the pin slot;
a lift plunger coupled to the cartridge housing, the lift plunger having at least one lift spring coupled to the housing bottom side and a lift plate coupled to the lift spring, the lift spring being two lift springs coupled within the pair of spring notches;
a plurality of pad tracks coupled to the cartridge housing, the plurality of pad tracks being coupled within the cartridge housing parallel to the lift plate; and
a plurality of alcohol pads, the alcohol pads being disposed in rows between the plurality of pad tracks, each alcohol pad having an ellipsoidal outer skin and an alcohol filling within the outer skin, the outer skin being elastomeric.
8. A rubbing alcohol dispenser apparatus comprising:
a cylindrical casing having a casing front side separated from an open casing back side and a casing sidewall extending therebetween, the casing front side having a casing dispense aperture extending therethrough;
a cylindrical cartridge housing having an open housing front side separated from a housing back side and a housing sidewall extending therebetween, the cartridge housing being slidably engageable within the casing through the casing back side;
a dispense plunger coupled to the casing, the dispense plunger having a dispense spring coupled to the housing back side and a dispense plate coupled to the dispense spring; and
a plurality of alcohol pads, the plurality of alcohol pads being disposed in a stack within the cartridge housing.
9. The rubbing alcohol dispenser apparatus of claim 8 further comprising a plurality of dispersal holes extending through the casing front side around the casing dispense aperture.
