Referring flrstto Figs. 1 to 4 of the drawing, the earthen: represented thereby may be said to consist of .a pair of leg members Ill and H properly shaped to snugly fit the legs of a wearer 5 and fabricated from a plurality of pieces of suitable fabric. The leg members are joined together along .central seams and I3 to provide. a front portion l4 and av rear portion I 5, said frontand rear portions having lateral or side edges which are adapted to partially overlap and 5 be detachably secured together by suitable snap fastening means It, as shown in Fig. 1. When said fastening means It are disconnected the rear portion may drop downwardly and constitute what is commonly known as a drop seat por- 10 'tion of the garment. The rear portion at its .belt line may be provided with asuitable elastic insert l1 and at the ends of said belt line with projecting tabs II. For cooperative engagement with said tabs It, the front of the garment at its belt line may be provided with buckles 19 whereby the garment may be adjustably secured about the waist line of a wearer. For providing ample fullness in the leg members for accommodating the movements of the 20 wearer in walking, bending, climbing stairs, etc., and particularly movements due to the bending of the'knee, without detracting from the snug fitting appearance of the garment, I provide the garment preferably along each side seam 5 thereof with an inverted pleat 20: of suitable length and width. If desired, this pleat may extend all the ;way from the juncture 20 of the front and rear portions I4 and I5 down to the bottom of the leg members Ill and II, but when such construction is employed, the additional full- ,be brought into connected aligned complemental 4o relation and held in such relation by, a movable slide member 23. In Fig. 4 the slide fastener elements are shown in separated relation, whereas in Fig. 3 the said slide fastener elements are disposed in complemental fastening engagement 4,5 with the pleat in itslnverted or hidden position. Preferably the slide fastener means extend upwardly from the bottom of the leg members to approximately below the knee regions while the unsecured portion ofthe pleats Ill extend from so approximately the top of the slide fastener 2b to the point of juncture 20' of the front and rear portions l4 and I. Upon drawing the leg members of the garment over the shod feet of the wear the leg members whichare extensible will giveto permit the ready passage therethrough-of said feet. Whenthe leg members of the garment have been drawn over the legs of the wearer and the wearers shoes en gage in the stirrups 26, the slide fastener elements are brought into complemental relation and secured by drawing the movable slide member 23 thereover. The front and rear portions are then properly adjusted about the waist of the wearerand the fastening elements I 6 are then secured, after which the tabs l8 and buckles I! are adjusted to provide the propertension around the waist line. When the'garment is upon a wearer,

the pleats 20 will normally remain closed or open just enough to not detract from the snug fitting appearance of the garment. These pleats will readily give in response to the wearers movements, as indicated in'dotted lines in Fig. 1, 'thus affording the comfort of a loose fitting garment.

It will be appreciated from the foregoing detailed description that I have provided a garment possessing the various advantageous properties and attributes set forth in the opening statement of this specification, and while I have shown and described certain preferred embodiments of my invention it is to be understood that I do not wish to be limited to the precise details of construction disclosed, since the same may be varied without departing from the spirit of the invention as claimed.

What I claim is: l

1. A garment comprising a body portion and a 10 pair of leg members extending down to substantially the ankles adapted to snugly fit a wearer, said legmembers from their bottoms to points substantiallyabove the knee regions being formed with pleats, separable fastener means on said pleats extending from the bottoms to points be-' low the knee region, said fastener means when connected serving to hold said pleats closed below the. knee regions while normally tending to hold said pleats above the knee regionsin closed relation without restraining the desirable "give of said pleats above the knee regions.

2. A garment comprising a body portion and a pair of leg members extending down to substantially the ankles adapted to snugly fita wearer, said leg members from their bottoms to points substantially above the knee regions being formed with inverted box pleats at the sides thereof, separable fastener means on said pleats extending, from the bottoms to points below the knee regions, said fastener means when connected serving to hold said inverted pleats closed below the knee regions while normally tending to hold said pleats above the knee regions in closed relation without
