Abstract

A self-contained, interchangeable decorative accessory is provided. The decorative accessory is backed by a low-profile hook and loop fastener that is coupled to a second low-profile hook and loop fastener. The decorative accessory may be coupled to headbands, purses, belts and the like.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

All the products available in the industry for any type of mix and match hair accessories or clothing decor consist primarily these solutions: A) permanently attached decorative accessories or B) solutions that required the accessory to contain one part of something (fastening means: snaps, Velcro®, buttons, zipper, loop, or other mechanism) that adheres to another item, which in turn, resides on the hair or clothing. The invention I will describe herein is for a completely self-contained decorative accessory that does not require a separate piece to make it attachable or interchangeable.
This new invention will give people the ability to be fashionable and creative without having to be restricted to an accessory that has one component of a solution that is dependent on attaching to another item that has the other component of the solution. They can use these “decorative accessories backed by self contained low-profile hook and loop” and attach them to most any headband, hair clip, alligator clip, duck bill clip, bobby pin, hair band or hair accessory (but not limited to these) available in the market today and create a unique design. They can also take this “decorative accessories backed by self contained low-profile hook and loop” and attach it to their clothing with any existing pin or safety pin and create fashionably unique looks. They can also take this “decorative accessories backed by self contained low-profile hook and loop” and attach it to an existing clip over their shoes, purse, key chains, scarf, waist, etc (but not limited to these). The size of the “self contained low-profile hook and loop” will vary, depending on the size of the decorative accessory. Age is not a limit for the audience. Girls and women alike can wear these decorative accessories and their imagination is the only limit.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the invention is to provide an interchangeable and all encompassing decorative accessory that can be used to attach to a large variety of pre-existing items. This “decorative accessories backed by self contained low-profile hook and loop” will contain both the hook and loop unto itself. It does not require another item, such as a pre-existing headband, clip or safety pin (but not limited to these), to hold any part of the hook and loop in order to attach.
The purpose of this invention is to create a new solution that allows people to use this “self contained low-profile hook and loop” with any fashion item they can imagine already in the market (ie. Hair accessories, clothing, bags, etc. But not limited to these). They have no restriction to having to buy two components in order to benefit from a mix and match flexibility. The invention is all encompassing and is self contained. More detail and advantages of the invention will be described within the following pages and drawings.
Note, the drawings depicted are part of illustrative and design purposes and include exemplary embodiments to the invention, which can be represented in various forms. In some instances and details, some aspects of the invention may be shown enlarged or exaggerated as a way to delineate and showcase certain points of the invention.
The invention contains basically 3 parts that are attached to a decorative accessory: a hook, a loop (Velcro®-type) and a cloth label with the company logo (no specific company logo is claimed since this invention can be later used with a variety of companies-with inventor approval).
There is no limiting factor for the size needed for this “decorative accessories backed by self contained low-profile hook and loop”. The size of the hook and loop with cloth logo is dependent on the size of the decorative accessory.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 17 shows the cloth label (with the printed logo) attached to the hook side of a hook and loop (Velcro®-type) attaching mechanism. This piece also contains the cloth label taped to the peel away side.

FIG. 18 shows the back of a decorative accessory.

FIG. 19 shows the back of a decorative accessory with the loop side of a hook and loop (Velcro®-type) attaching mechanism attached to its back by way of its peel away tape.

FIG. 20 shows the back of a decorative accessory with the loop side taped to it, plus the hook side (with the cloth label taped to it) fastened together using the hook and loop locking mechanism.

FIG. 21 shows how you can attach the “decorative accessory backed by the self-contained mechanism of low profile hook and loop” with a bobby pin. This will temporarily attach the decorative accessory to whatever surface the bobby pin can attach to.

FIG. 22 shows another example, this time with a headband of how you can attach the “decorative accessory backed by the self-contained mechanism of low profile hook and loop” with a headband. This will temporarily attach the decorative accessory to the headband used on a person's head.

FIG. 23 shows how a person would be able to use 1 same “decorative accessory backed by the self-contained mechanism of low profile hook and loop” in many uses.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1-4 shows a variety of decorative accessories that can be backed by “self contained low profile hook and loop”. These are some examples: chiffon cloth flower with pearl in center (FIG. 1), single/double traditional bow made of ribbon or cloth (FIG. 2), flower made of plastic or cloth with/out center decor (small beads, crystals, pearls) (FIG. 3) and chiffon/satin fabric layered accessory with/out center decor (small beads, crystals, pearls) (FIG. 4). These are some examples of decorative accessories that can be used to attach the self contained low profile hook and loop but is not limited to these.
FIG. 5-8 shows a variety of hair clips to which the decorative accessories can attach too. These examples are: traditional bobby pin (various sizes, types and dimensions) (FIG. 5), clip/alligator/duck bill clip (various sizes and dimensions) (FIG. 6), hair band/pony tail holder (various sizes, materials and dimensions) (FIG. 7), and other hair clips varieties [FIG. 8].
FIG. 9-10 shows a variety of headbands to which the decorative accessories can attach too. These examples are: plastic or metal headbands, but they are not limited to these materials [FIG. 9] and round headbands with elastic, cloth or plastic that wrap around the whole head [FIG. 10].
FIG. 11 shows a visual of a safety pin (various sizes, types and dimension) [FIG. 11] that are used to pin onto a lapel of a dress, coat or shirt; onto the waist of a dress, coat, jacket, pants, skirt, shorts or shirt; or anywhere people would like to pin a decorative accessory.
FIG. 12 shows a visual of a key chain (various sizes, types and dimensions) [FIG. 12] that can be used to attach to key chains, purses, backpacks, clutches or bags.
FIG. 13 shows a scarf (various sizes and materials) [FIG. 13] that can be used as decoration around the neck or shoulders.
FIG. 14 shows one of the two sides of the low profile hook and loop tape (Velcro®-type). This visual is of the loop side, which appears fuzzy to the touch. The “low profile” means that the hooks are smaller, finer than standard hook and loops. This is important to note for this invention because this “low profile” provides a non-obtrusive look and feel to the decorative accessories once adhered to them. In FIG. 14 (A), there is a peel away tape side used to attach the loop side to an object. FIG. 14 (B), is where the low profile loop side is located.
FIG. 15 shows the other side of the low profile hook and loop tape (Velcro®-type). This visual is of the hook side, which appears prickly to the touch. The “low profile” means that the loops are smaller, finer than standard hook and loops. This is important to note for this invention because this “low profile” provides a non-obtrusive look and feel to the decorative accessories once adhered to them. In FIG. 15 (A), there is a peel away tape side. FIG. 15 (B), is where the low profile hook side is located.
FIG. 16 depicts a cloth label (showing a company logo that has been printed on it) that is made to the same size of the low profile hook and loop tape. This cloth label is commonly found today as clothing labels (usually inside of the clothing) used to identify the company brand, size of the clothing and/or give instructions of the care of the item. This label can be made of any variety of materials such as satin, damask, cotton, etc.
FIG. 17 shows how the cloth label (showing a company logo [FIG. 16]) is adhered to the tape/sticky side [FIG. 15 (A)], of the hook side [FIG. 15] of the low profile hook and loop tape. They match in size. So once taped together, one side will show the low profile hook side and the other will show the cloth label (showing a company logo).
FIG. 18 shows the back view of any type of decorative accessory described in FIG. 1-4.
FIG. 19 shows the low profile loop side taped to the back of any type of decorative accessory described in FIG. 1-4. So once taped together, one side will show the front of the decorative accessory and the other side, the backside, will show the loop side, which appears fuzzy to the touch.
FIG. 20 shows the combined decorative accessory with the low profile loop on its backside [FIG. 19] attached to the low profile hook side of the label [FIG. 17].
FIG. 21 shows a decorative accessory with low profile loop attached on its backside [FIG. 20] grabbing hold to a bobby pin using the other low profile hook with the cloth label adhered to it [FIG. 17]. In essence, the bobby pin is sandwiched/or pinned between a hook and loop.
FIG. 22 shows a decorative accessory with low profile loop attached on its backside [FIG. 20] grabbing hold to a headband using the other low profile hook with the cloth label adhered to it [FIG. 17]. In essence, the headband is sandwiched/or pinned between a hook and loop.
FIG. 23 shows a model showcasing the fashion uses of the “decorative accessories backed by self contained low-profile hook and loop” in a variety of ways. In FIG. 23 (A), you can see it attaching itself to an existing headband (which is a headband that does not contain any attaching mechanism unto itself); in FIG. 23 (B), you can see it attaching itself to a scarf (which is a scarf that does not contain any attaching mechanism unto itself); in FIG. 23 (C), you can see it attaching itself to the lapel of a jacket using a pin (which is a pin that does not contain any attaching mechanism unto itself); in FIG. 23 (D), you can see it attaching itself to a purse using a ring (which is a ring that does not contain any attaching mechanism unto itself); in FIG. 23 (E), you can see it attaching itself to a skirt using a pin (which is a pin that does not contain any attaching mechanism unto itself); in FIG. 23 (F), you can see it attaching itself to key chain using a ring (which is a key chain that does not contain any attaching mechanism unto itself).

Claims

I claim:

1. A decorative accessory comprising:

a decorative accessory including a first hook and loop patch positioned on the back of said decorative accessory;

a base;

a second hoop and loop patch structured to operably couple said decorative accessory to said base by coupling with said first hook and loop patch,

wherein said decorative accessory is interchangeable with different decorative accessories.

2. The hook or loop will be attached to the decorative accessory and can be any size-which is solely dependent on the size of the decorative accessory.

3. The material/brand the hooks and loops can be, but is not limited to: Velcro®-type.

7. The decorative accessory of claim 1 wherein said decorative accessory is a bow, a flower, or jewelry.
