Abstract
An anti-reverse device includes a handle, a blocking member secured on the handle, a fixing plate mounted on the handle, and an adjusting sleeve movably mounted on the handle and abutting the fixing plate. Thus, the fixing plate is fixed on the flange of the toilet bowl, and the blocking member is fixed on the draining port of the toilet bowl to lock the anti-reverse device onto toilet bowl so that the blocking member can block the draining port of the toilet bowl closely and tightly to prevent the waste water from flowing back from the draining port of the toilet bowl due to an irregular pressure condition such that the waste water is stopped and will not flow outward from the toilet bowl.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to an anti-reverse device and, more particularly, to an anti-reverse device for a toilet bowl.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A conventional toilet bowl has a peripheral wall formed with an annular flange and has a bottom provided with a draining port. Thus, the wastes can be drained through the draining port of the toilet bowl into a discharge pipe. However, when an irregular pressure condition occurs in the plumbing system, the waste water in the discharge pipe easily flows backward through the draining port of the toilet bowl into the toilet bowl and will flow outward from the toilet bowl into the bathroom, thereby causing a pollution and a sanitary problem to the user.
- In accordance with the present invention, there is provided an anti-reverse device, comprising a handle, a blocking member secured on the handle, a fixing plate mounted on the handle, and an adjusting sleeve movably mounted on the handle and abutting the fixing plate to drive the fixing plate to move relative to the blocking member so as to adjust a distance between the fixing plate and the blocking member.
- The handle is provided with a threaded rod. The threaded rod of the handle has a lower end secured in the blocking member. The blocking member has a top provided with a mounting stud mounted on the lower end of the threaded rod. The adjusting sleeve has an inner wall formed with an inner threaded portion screwed onto the threaded rod of the handle. The mounting stud of the blocking member has an inner wall formed with a screw bore screwed onto the lower end of the threaded rod to lock the mounting stud of the blocking member onto the threaded rod of the handle. The fixing plate is provided with two resting pieces which are located at two opposite ends of the fixing plate respectively. The anti-reverse device further comprises a toilet bowl having a peripheral wall formed with an annular flange and having a bottom provided with a draining port. The blocking member is mounted on the draining port of the toilet bowl to block the draining port of the toilet bowl, and the two resting pieces of the fixing plate abut the flange of the toilet bowl.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an anti-reverse device to block and prevent waste water in a toilet bowl from flowing backward.
- According to the primary advantage of the present invention, the fixing plate is fixed on the flange of the toilet bowl, and the blocking member is fixed on the draining port of the toilet bowl to lock the anti-reverse device onto toilet bowl so that the blocking member can block the draining port of the toilet bowl closely and tightly to prevent the waste water from flowing back from the draining port of the toilet bowl due to an irregular pressure condition such that the waste water is stopped and will not flow outward from the toilet bowl to prevent from incurring an environmental pollution.
- According to another advantage of the present invention, the user only needs to rotate and adjust the adjusting sleeve so as to lock the anti-reverse device onto toilet bowl so that the anti-reverse device can be operated and positioned easily and quickly, thereby greatly facilitating the user operating the anti-reverse device.
- Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 4 is a schematic operational view of the anti-reverse device for a toilet bowl as shown inFIG. 1 in use. - Referring to the drawings and initially to
FIGS. 1-3 , ananti-reverse device 1 in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises ahandle 11, a blockingmember 12 secured on thehandle 11, afixing plate 14 mounted on thehandle 11, and anadjusting sleeve 13 movably mounted on thehandle 11 and abutting thefixing plate 14 to drive thefixing plate 14 to move relative to the blockingmember 12 so as to adjust a distance between thefixing plate 14 and the blockingmember 12. - The
handle 11 is provided with a threadedrod 111. The threadedrod 111 of thehandle 11 has alower end 112 secured in the blockingmember 12. - The blocking
member 12 is preferably a sucker. The blockingmember 12 has a top provided with amounting stud 120 mounted on thelower end 112 of the threadedrod 111. Themounting stud 120 of the blockingmember 12 has an inner wall formed with ascrew bore 121 screwed onto thelower end 112 of the threadedrod 111 to lock themounting stud 120 of the blockingmember 12 onto the threadedrod 111 of thehandle 11. - The adjusting
sleeve 13 has a substantially hexagonal cross-sectional profile. The adjustingsleeve 13 is disposed between thefixing plate 14 and the blockingmember 12 and has an inner wall formed with an inner threadedportion 131 screwed onto the threadedrod 111 of thehandle 11. Thus, the adjustingsleeve 13 is movable on thehandle 11 by rotation of the adjustingsleeve 13 relative to the threadedrod 111 of thehandle 11. The adjustingsleeve 13 has a top 130 abutting thefixing plate 14. - The
fixing plate 14 has a substantially inverted U-shaped profile. Thefixing plate 14 is movable on thehandle 11 by pushing of the adjustingsleeve 13. Thefixing plate 14 has a middle portion formed with a throughhole 140 mounted on the threadedrod 111 of thehandle 11. Thefixing plate 14 is provided with tworesting pieces 141 which are located at two opposite ends of thefixing plate 14 respectively. - In operation, referring to
FIG. 4 with reference toFIGS. 1-3 , theanti-reverse device 1 is mounted on atoilet bowl 2. Thetoilet bowl 2 has a peripheral wall formed with anannular flange 21 and has a bottom provided with adraining port 22. When theanti-reverse device 1 is mounted on thetoilet bowl 2, the blockingmember 12 is mounted on the drainingport 22 of thetoilet bowl 2 to block the drainingport 22 of thetoilet bowl 2, and the tworesting pieces 141 of thefixing plate 14 abut theflange 21 of thetoilet bowl 2. Then, the adjustingsleeve 13 is rotated relative to the threadedrod 111 of thehandle 11 so that theadjusting sleeve 13 is moved on thehandle 11 until thetop 130 of theadjusting sleeve 13 abuts thefixing plate 14. At this time, thefixing plate 14 is pressed toward theflange 21 of thetoilet bowl 2 by pushing of the adjustingsleeve 13 so that thefixing plate 14 is fixed on theflange 21 of thetoilet bowl 2. In such a manner, theadjusting sleeve 13 is moved on thehandle 11 by rotation of the adjustingsleeve 13 relative to the threadedrod 111 of thehandle 11 to press thefixing plate 14 so that thefixing plate 14 is fixed on theflange 21 of thetoilet bowl 2, and the blockingmember 12 is fixed on thedraining port 22 of thetoilet bowl 2 so as to lock theanti-reverse device 1 ontotoilet bowl 2 closely and tightly. Thus, the blockingmember 12 can block the drainingport 22 of thetoilet bowl 2 to prevent waste water in thetoilet bowl 2 from flowing backward from the drainingport 22 of thetoilet bowl 2 due to an irregular pressure condition so as to prevent the waste water from overflowing outward from thetoilet bowl 2 and to prevent from incurring an environmental pollution. - Accordingly, the
fixing plate 14 is fixed on theflange 21 of thetoilet bowl 2, and the blockingmember 12 is fixed on thedraining port 22 of thetoilet bowl 2 to lock theanti-reverse device 1 ontotoilet bowl 2 so that the blockingmember 12 can block the drainingport 22 of thetoilet bowl 2 closely and tightly to prevent the waste water from flowing back from thedraining port 22 of thetoilet bowl 2 due to an irregular pressure condition such that the waste water is stopped and will not flow outward from thetoilet bowl 2 to prevent from incurring an environmental pollution. In addition, the user only needs to rotate and adjust the adjustingsleeve 13 so as to lock theanti-reverse device 1 ontotoilet bowl 2 so that theanti-reverse device 1 can be operated and positioned easily and quickly, thereby greatly facilitating the user operating theanti-reverse device 1. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
Claims (13)
1. An anti-reverse device, comprising:
a handle;
a blocking member secured on the handle;
a fixing plate mounted on the handle; and
an adjusting sleeve movably mounted on the handle and abutting the fixing plate to drive the fixing plate to move relative to the blocking member so as to adjust a distance between the fixing plate and the blocking member.
2. The anti-reverse device of claim 1 , wherein
the handle is provided with a threaded rod;
the threaded rod of the handle has a lower end secured in the blocking member;
the blocking member has a top provided with a mounting stud mounted on the lower end of the threaded rod;
the adjusting sleeve has an inner wall formed with an inner threaded portion screwed onto the threaded rod of the handle.
3. The anti-reverse device of claim 2 , wherein the mounting stud of the blocking member has an inner wall formed with a screw bore screwed onto the lower end of the threaded rod to lock the mounting stud of the blocking member onto the threaded rod of the handle.
4. The anti-reverse device of claim 2 , wherein
the fixing plate is provided with two resting pieces which are located at two opposite ends of the fixing plate respectively;
the anti-reverse device further comprises a toilet bowl having a peripheral wall formed with an annular flange and having a bottom provided with a draining port;
the blocking member is mounted on the draining port of the toilet bowl to block the draining port of the toilet bowl;
the two resting pieces of the fixing plate abut the flange of the toilet bowl.
5. The anti-reverse device of claim 4 , wherein the fixing plate is pressed toward the flange of the toilet bowl by pushing of the adjusting sleeve so that the fixing plate is fixed on the flange of the toilet bowl.
6. The anti-reverse device of claim 1 , wherein the blocking member is a sucker.
7. The anti-reverse device of claim 1 , wherein the adjusting sleeve has a substantially hexagonal cross-sectional profile.
8. The anti-reverse device of claim 1 , wherein the adjusting sleeve is disposed between the fixing plate and the blocking member.
9. The anti-reverse device of claim 2 , wherein the adjusting sleeve is movable on the handle by rotation of the adjusting sleeve relative to the threaded rod of the handle.
10. The anti-reverse device of claim 2 , wherein the adjusting sleeve has a top abutting the fixing plate.
11. The anti-reverse device of claim 1 , wherein the fixing plate has a substantially inverted U-shaped profile.
12. The anti-reverse device of claim 10 , wherein the fixing plate is movable on the handle by pushing of the adjusting sleeve.
13. The anti-reverse device of claim 2 , wherein the fixing plate has a middle portion formed with a through hole mounted on the threaded rod of the handle.
