Abstract

The invention comprises a novel easy to use one size fits all headband and scarf combination, and methods of attaching the headband and scarf. A preferred embodiment has a rectangular or square sheet of material with a fold along one corner forming a large main sheet an a short sheet portion. An elongated headband can be sewn on an opposite side of the folded sheet of material along the fold line. A user can drape the short sheet portion over their head and attach the exposed ends of the headband together so that the attached ends are behind the user's head. The large main sheet can be draped over the attached headband. Alternatively, the main sheet can be draped under the attached headband.

BACKGROUND

Field of Invention

Scarves have been popular over the years as a head covering particularly for women wanting an attractive head covering. Additionally, scarves have also become popular for men wishing to wear head coverings when riding motorcycles, convertible cars and the like. Most scarves encompass rectangular sheets formed from materials such as silk, nylon fabric and the like. A problem with existing scarves is how to attach it to one's head. Typically, the conventional scarf can be attached by tying it around the head itself, which may be difficult to achieve, since the knots can come loose if not tied tight enough. Furthermore the tied scarf can have unattractive bulges that affect the appearance and comfort to the wearer. Also, tying the scarf can easily result in damaging the scarf. Additionally, it is usually difficult for someone to try to tie a scarf that requires one to use a mirror so that it must be constantly adjusted to fit right.
Other ways of attaching the scarf have included clips and separate fasteners such as safety pins and bobby pins that can also be difficult to use, can stick the user, and can become lost. Also, the separate fasteners are unsightly in appearance. Also, the separate fasteners can result in ripping and damaging the scarves. Still furthermore, these fasteners do not overcome the problem of using the scarf over different sized heads, and/or for using the scarf with woman or men having both long hair or short hair.
Still furthermore, the traditional scarves are difficult to use on women or men that have lost their hair such as those with health problems such as but not limited to those who are having undergone chemotherapy treatments.
Still furthermore, current scarves are unable to easily be used on persons wishing to wear head coverings when doing other activities such as swimming and the like.
Thus, the need exists for solutions to the above problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A primary objective of the present invention was to provide an adjustable fashion headband and scarf combinations and methods of assembling a combined headband and scarf that will allow the wearer to easily affix the headband and scarf combination on the head and adjust it to stay on securely regardless of head size or activities being preformed.
A secondary objective of the present invention was to provide an adjustable fashion headband and scarf combinations and methods of assembling a combined headband and scarf that is easy to use.
A third objective of the present invention was to provide an adjustable fashion headband and scarf combinations and methods of assembling a combined headband and scarf that can be a one size fits all that works with different head sizes and different amounts of hair.
A fourth objective of the present invention was to provide an adjustable fashion headband and scarf combinations and methods of assembling a combined headband and scarf that is attractive in appearance.
A fifth objective of the present invention was to provide an adjustable fashion headband and scarf combinations and methods of assembling a combined headband and scarf that does not require tied knots and/or tied ends.
A sixth objective of the present invention was to provide an adjustable fashion headband and scarf combinations and methods of assembling a combined headband and scarf that does not require separate fasteners and clips to use to keep it on the wearers head.
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be apparent from the following detailed description of the presently preferred embodiments which are illustrated schematically in the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Before explaining the disclosed embodiments of the present invention in detail it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its applications to the details of the particular arrangements shown since the invention is capable of other embodiments. Also, the terminology used herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation.
The present invention 10 can include an adjustable fashion headband and scarf combination that is a one size fits all that can include a generally square sheet of material that can be folded along one corner area, where the fold can be attached by being sewn, and the like to a belt headband portion. The folded sheet can have a main sheet portion and a short sheet portion. The headband can have a belt type appearance with one flap end having at least one sewn on ring, with a diameter expanding to a middle portion toward the middle of the sheet fold, and the opposite flap end having a rounded end tip.
The opposite flap end can optionally include a plurality of small through holes so that it can easily be looped around the ring. The opposite flap end can also include snaps or fasteners that allow the wearer to easily adjust the headband to fit to the size of the wearers head. The ring can also optionally have a belt end strand that can be positioned through any of the through holes so that the headband can be fastened like a belt.
The headband and folded sheet can be formed from various materials such as but not limited to cotton, canvas, leather, nylon, blends thereof, silk, rayon, wool, man made fabrics, and any other materials, and their combination.
The headband and scarf can be attached about the head of a user so that the main sheet portion is draped over the attached headband, or the main sheet is attached under the attached headband.

Headband Over Main Sheet Configuration

An embodiment of the present invention 10 (FIG. 1) is a left side assembled view of the scarf 20 with headband 21 over configuration. FIG. 2 is a rear side assembled view of the scarf 20 with headband 21 over draped main sheet 22 configuration.
FIG. 3 is a right side of an assembled view of the scarf 20 with headband 21 over configuration. FIG. 4 is a front view of an assembled view of the scarf 20 with headband 21 over configuration. Headband Under Main Sheet Configuration Assembly Steps

FIG. 15 is a rear head view of the present invention 10 of the lower side of the scarf 20 and headband 21 of FIG. 10 about to be attached to a wearer's head 29 for the under configuration. The headband 21 can have perimeter edges that are thicker than the rest of the headband that include flexible piping 27 sewn within the perimeter edges of the headband 21 material. Various types of indicia, patterns and the like, can be used on either or both the main and short sheets of the scarf 20, as well as on either or both sides of the headband 21 belt ring 24 portion of the invention.
While rectangular shaped sheets are described, the invention can be formed from other shapes such as a square. Additionally, other geometrical shapes, such as but not limited to triangular, hexagon, octagon, and the like, can also be used. Although the headband 21 is shown and described having a loop end 25 or belt buckle ring 24, the headband 21 can have a flap end 26 that can have other fasteners 23 such as but not limited to snaps, and the like. Alternatively, the flap end 26 can have other fasteners 23 such as buttons, and the like. Still furthermore, the flap end 26 and the loop end 25 can be a loose ends where the loose ends can be attached to one another by being tied together.
While the invention has been described, disclosed, illustrated and shown in various terms of certain embodiments or modifications which it has presumed in practice, the scope of the invention is not intended to be, nor should it be deemed to be, limited thereby and such other modifications or embodiments as may be suggested by the teachings herein are particularly reserved especially as they fall within the breadth and scope of the claims here appended.

Claims

1. A one-size fits all headband and scarf, comprising:

a single rectangular sheet having a fold line along one corner portion that forms a large sheet portion and a short sheet portion along one side of the sheet material; and elongated headband attached to a rear side of the folded sheet adjacent to the fold line, the elongated head band having opposite flap ends, wherein the opposite flap ends allow the headband and scarf adaptable to be attached about one's head with the short sheet portion draped over the head.

2. The headband and scarf of claim 1, wherein the large sheet portion is draped over the attached headband.

3. The headband and scarf of claim 1, wherein the large sheet portion is draped under the attached headband.

4. The headband and scarf of claim 1, wherein the elongated headband includes a ring end and loose flap end.

5. The headband and scarf of claim 1, wherein the elongated headband includes a belt buckle end.

6. A method of attaching a headband and scarf, comprising the steps of:

providing a floded sheet having a large sheet portion and a smaller sheet portion; providing and elongated headband attached adjacent to a fold line of the sheet, the headband having loose opposite ends; draping the smaller sheet portion over a top of one's head and wrapping the elongated headband about a forhead of one's head; and attaching the other loose opposite ends of the elongated headband behind one's head.

7. The method of claim 6, further comprising the step of:

draping the large sheet portion over the attached opposite ends of the headband behind ones's head.

8. The method of claim 6, further comprising the step of:

draping the large sheet portion under the attached opposite ends of the headband behind one's head.

9. The method of claim 6, wherein the attaching steps include:

looping one of the opposite ends of the elongated headband around a ring attached to the opposite end of the elongated headband.

10. The method of claim 6, wherein the attaching steps include:

buckling together the opposite ends of the elongated headband.

11. The method of claim 6, wherein the attaching steps include:

Sanpping together the opposite ends of the elongated headband.
