Description

June 25, 1935. KARELITZ 7 2,006,103
DETACHABLE FASTENING MEANS FOR CONNECTING COLLARS TO SHIRTS Filed Aug. 30, 1934 Inventor Attorney Patented June 25, 1935 PATENT OFFICE DETACHABLE FASTENING MEANS FOR CON- NECTING COLLARS TO SHIRTS Max Karelitz,
Milford, Mass.
Application August 30, 1984, Serial No. 742,184
, 1 Claim.
s the collar to the shirt, one portion of the stationary part of the fastener being connected to the bottom of the shirt band and the other part being attached to the top of the yoke of the shirt. This invention also consists in certain other 10 features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:
Fig. 1 is a view of an upper part of a shirt 20 and a collar, showing the parts separated.
Fig. 2 is a perspective view showing the collar attached to the shirt.
In these views, the letter A indicates the shirt which is formed with the usual yoke I and 25 in carrying out the invention, the neck band 2 to which the collar 3 is attached is formed separate from the yoke of the shirt and the stationary part 4 of the zipper type of fastener is attached to the upper edge of the yoke while the other stationary part 5 of the fastener is attached to the lower edge of the neck band. Thus when the slide 6 of the fastener is placed in engagement with the two members I and 5 and 5 moved from one end of the neck band to the other, the collar will have the neck band 2 detachably connected to the yoke of the shirt as shown in Fig. 2.
It is' thought from the foregoing description 10 that the advantages and novel features of theinvention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
I claim:
In combination with a shirt having a neck band formed separately therefrom, slide fastener elements secured to the lower portion of the neck band and extending the full length thereof, cooperating slide fastener elements on the upper edge of the shirt for connecting the neck band to the shirt, and a collar connected to the upper edge of the neck band.
