Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. A fence-cap made of a base part with tapering sides and spurred top edge, substantialiy in the manner and for the purpose set forth.

In the drawing, A represents a fence capfor top, which is made either of sheet, east, or wrought metal, and fastened to the top or sides of board fences by rails, screws, or rivets, or clamped thereto by their own spring action. The fence caps or tops are sold in certain lengths to suit, and are provided with a tapering top part, B, an d spurred upper being made either of nails driven through the top edge, or cast with the cap, or set into the cast-metal cap in any suitable manner.
If desired, the spurs may be dispensed with, as by a proper taper of the sides nearly the same object, but with less ornamental appearance, is obtained.
